RARE EARLY BYZANTINE LONG IRON SOCKETED ARROWHEAD 500-700 AD. War Relic 15.5 cm
ANCIENT BYZANTINE IRON ARROWHEAD. A rare and collectible early Byzantine iron socketed arrowhead with elongated and narrow profile. It has a compact barbed head. Long neck and relatively light overall construction for its length. The narrow elongated form was practical for penetration and distance rather than broad cutting. The barbs are also relatively restrained. Byzantine and late Roman military arrowheads became progressively slimmer and optimized for mass military use. Much longer than earlier shorter Roman iron arrowheads, this type of war relic is highly sought after. Weight – 24.05 Grams. Size – 15.5×1.3 cm. Originally found in the Balkans.

A Rare Early Antique Clockwork Dancing Bear. This is a Rare Antique Clockwork Dancing Mohair Bear. He has glass eyes, metal nose with metal straps & pins around his head. When wound he dances & his head moves back & forth. He has the normal fur loss & looks as if he has had fur being added underneath his body/chest & his back legs have been recovered, please see photos. Measures 12cm tall & 15cm in length. This item will be very securely wrapped & boxed.

Purveyors of wonderful things. Welcome to the sale of this antique pair of anatomical paintings. These anatomical paintings are very early works by Percy Fredrick Horton. They were painted when he was a student at the Brighton Collage of Art in 1914. Percy Horton had an interesting life and is a well known artist of the early 20th century. Much can be found out about him on the internet. This pair of drawings represent two anatomical representations of the male musculature with the various muscle groups indexed. They were no doubt part of Horton’s studies that have been saved either by himself or a friend and later framed. It would appear that they have never been out of their frames. A really nice example of a known artists early work and a very interesting subject matter, as well as being very colourful and decorative in their own right. In good condition commensurate with its age and use. Please have a good look at the photographs as they form part of the description and contact me if you have any further questions. The paintings measure (in cm) 42 tall by 31 wide. There will be a surcharge for some addresses in Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man, the Scilly Isles and the Highlands and islands of Scotland. You are more than welcome to collect or I can deliver locally if needed. Please note my items are photographed under bright photographic lights.
