A rare figurine of a goat made by Nymphenburg during the early to mid 20th century. Not sure what kind of goat it is as I cannot find another and it’s not even in my books which is unusual. The figure is superbly modeled with lots of detail and is hand painted to perfection as one expects from this maker. I think Nymphenburg makes the best animal figurines in the porcelain world. The piece is about 3.625 inches tall, 2.75 inches deep and 5 inches long. The piece is marked with the impressed shield mark underneath with the impressed numbers 618 over 8. The piece is in perfect condition with a couple of tiny black firing spots sometimes seen on their animal figures. Ziegenfigur German Germany 20thC. An extremely rare porcelain sculpture from the early years of the Royal Dux factory. From the founding of the factory until 1938, 12,000 different models were made. This sculpture, stamped on the bottom with the number 255, is an early Dux Royal sculpture particularly appreciated by collectors. The factory, founded by model-drawer Eduard Eichler, was named “Royal Dux” in 1898. The famous pink triangle with an “E” in the middle appeared for the first time in 1900. The figurine represents a mythical girl from German folklore – Lorele. And if in some Royal Dux figures we notice average quality of a mass market product, this sculpture was clearly made to attract the attention of the most sophisticated connoisseurs. It is with works such as this one that Royal Dux has earned its place among the best porcelain factories in the world. The face of this figurine truly captures the seductive allure of the sorceress of the Lorelei legend. There is a slight, hardly noticeable thickening of the left forearm, but it is possibly due to the manufacturing proceas. No damage, chips or cracks. Even the flowers on the base are in good condition. Weight of the figurine 1200 grams.

Orchestra of street musicians, (Rudolstadt, Germany) – ca 1901 – ca 1920. Height 17.5-18.5 cm. Ernst Bohne first started porcelain decoration in 1848, only installing a kiln for the manufacture of porcelain in 1850. When Ernst died in 1856, his sons, Gustav, Karl and David took over the company as Ernst Bohne & Söhne. By 1883 David was left as sole proprietor, so in turn David’s children continued the dynasty. It has the Blue Crown with N below, a mark used by Bohne & Son in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s on the end of the base. This mark was used by Bohne & Sons for export wares during this period. All the figures in this lot are extremely rare. French horn musician is in very good condition considering his age, and except for a few paint errors like on the capes edge, which is an artist defect. Flute musician is in good to fair condition considering his right flute is broken off and piece missing. And a tiny chip on cape on left lower side. Chelo musician is also in fair condition, his bow is broken off at the right side and piece missing. His left thumb is broken off and piece missing, and there is a small chip of paint on his left shoulder. See all pictures as they are a reflection of the description and sale of these three pieces. A very rare early French antique solid sterling silver wine taster. It is hallmarked with the French charge and discharge marks for 1768 – 1774, pre French Revolution. It has been superbly made having a scroll handle and engraved initials. It is in good condition for its age being free from splits and repairs, there are a few slight dinks to the raised decoration and one tiny pin hole – see final photo (worth getting sorted on such a rare piece). It is nice and clean inside. 4 inches (10cm) wide including the handle by 3.25 inches (8cm) excluding it by 1 inch (2.6cm) tall to the top of the handle and and weighs 84 grams.
