RARE STUNNING ANTIQUE Very Early Old PRIE DIEU PRAYER Church Kneeling Stool

Offered for sale is this stunning find. In its completely original untouched as found condition. Made of wood, which was ebonised and which still remains. Original tapetry top which look like it was some sort of velvet? Which has now worn and become threadbare in place as shown with use over many many years. No idea of the exact age of this beautiful old prayer stool, but I have spoken to a couple of experts and they said that they would date c 1800. It has wooden dowels to 2 sides instead of screws and the other side has two screws which must have been replaced sometime later. I looked up some information about dowels/pegs being used in furniture and it advised that Antique furniture construction, up to teh early 1700s was mainly built using pegged construction, but I will leave it to you experts out there to decide and inform. Measuring approx 12″ inches wide by 8.5/9″ tall by 8 deep. Please look carefully at photos as this forms part of the overall description. I have tried to take accurate photos that show the box as true as possible- please bare in mind that screen settings and different devices may show differently. LOVELY, RARE EARLY St. IVES TANKARD for LEACH POTTERY. THIS IS A LOVELY TANKARD MADE AT THE LEACH FACTORY St. IVES CORNWALL IN, PROBABLY, THE 1920’s (EVEN INTO THE EARLY 30’s). IT IS DEPICTED IN A STANDARD TANKARD FORM WITH A LOVELY GREEN CELADON GLAZE AND A FINE SCROLLING HANDLE WITH THUMB PIECE. THE BASE OF THE HANDLE IS IMPRESSED WITH THE St. IVES POTTERY MARK – SEE PHOTOGRAPHS AND DETAILS. IT MEASURES 5″ (12.5cm) H x 5″ (12.5cm) W LIP TO HANDLE APPROX; AND IS IN GOOD TO FAIR CONDITION WITH A LONG HAIRLINE FROM THE RIM INTO THE BASE TO ONE SIDE, ONE ABOUT A QUARTER OF THE HEIGHT TO THE OTHER SIDE, AND SEVERAL SMALL CHIPS TO THE RIM. Rare Antique Early 19th Century Child’s Miniature Treen Knitting Sheath Initials

Rare Antique Early 19th Century Child’s Miniature Treen Knitting Sheath, Initialled’M. These sewing tools were found mainly in rural areas in Wales, Yorkshire, Cumbria, Scotland and Northumberland, the majority were made in wood; but other materials included leather, metal, bone, straw and quills. They were used by placing the end of the stick against the right hand hip, tucked into the waistband, or belt, at an angle, so a double ended knitting needle could be placed in the hole, at the opposite end, which was about 1 deep. This secured the knitting needle, and freed the right hand so the knitter could knit at speed, also whilst standing or walking. This charming example is rare in its miniature child size and is engraved with the child’s initials. Condition is good, commensurate with and use. Lovely patina to the wood! RARE CAPODIMONTE, NAPLES, IT A LY LATE 18TH. To EARLY 19TH CENTURY ANTIQUE SIGNED JARDINAIRE, HAND PAINTED. DECORATED BAS- RELIEF with RAISED FIGURATION, PORCELAIN CERAMIC CONDIMENT, MUSTARD JAR, with ORIGINAL CORK STOPPER, featuring EARLY BLUE INK STAMPED CAPODIMONTE CROWN over. NEOPOLITAN’N’ MARK on BASEPLATE. ESTABLISHED in NAPLES, IT A LY in 1743. Late 18th to early 19th century Capodimonte, It a ly antique hand painted, figurative flat-walled porcelain ceramic mustard jars & other decorative ceramic vessels. 4 ½ ” Height (without inserted cork stopper) x 4 ¾” Height (with inserted cork stopper) x 3″ Width x 3″ Depth. Weight: 8.8 oz. Offered for your review and consideration is this particularly early, as indicated by the blue ink stamped Capodimonte Crown over Neopolitan’N’ mark, found on the decorated porcelain ceramic jar’s baseplate. This clear maker’s mark identifies the porcelain mustard or condiment, flat-sidewall ceramic jar, as dating from as early the late 18th to early 19th century, with its production being as early as 1771 to as late as possibly 1834. The jar consists of four slab-constructed porcelain ceramic sidewalls, joined together at their corners with a square ceramic base, sloped shoulders and tubular neck. There are instances of gold gilt, hand painted embellishment. The outside walls of the vessel feature bas-relief, raised figuration, or jardinaire, with multiple classical figures in bucolic landscapes. Each different figurative side vignette or miniature painting is entirely hand painted and done so with great skill. The jar still has its original cork stopper and remains as it was found in the estate it was taken from. Very rare and a truly outstanding piece with no noticeable condition issues.
