Antique French Wedding Toile 18101820 Red and White Toile Early 19th C Rare
Antique French Red and White Toile 1810 -1820 Early 19th C. Antique French early 19th C red and off white Wedding Toile on printed cotton. The design is charming and the details are quite exquisite! This rare, lovely antique French textile is in it’s original form, never washed, formerly hung as a bed curtain. All completely hand stitched in a quilted diamond pattern onto a off white muslin or thin linen cloth backing. No batting inside as this was to be displayed flat as a bed curtain or valance. Excellent condition for it’s age! Not washed or pressed, in it’s original, found condition. This elongated panel has a scalloped edge at the bottom with three edges; the sides and bottom, all hand stitched. With a narrow hem and the top of the panel has a raw cut edge that could easily be hemmed under as well if you wish to display it on the wall. Some small areas of soiling at the very bottom of the front of panel. There are two little hole areas within the same location as the larger hole shown in the back. The backing shows some storage marks/soiling. A hole as shown in the photo, and four little rust holes at the very bottom near the scalloped edge where it was once (commonly) nailed down. Absolutely stunningly beautiful panel! Perfect for a lovely wedding gift, pillows, light upholstery, lamps, framing, covered journals, table runners, home furnishings, or a very special sewing project. 30 in length measured down the middle to the bottom of the scalloped edge. Happy to answer any questions you may have prior to purchasing. This item is in the category “Collectibles\Linens & Textiles\Fabrics”. The coloration and glaze make the. A similar pair of Meissen Hoopoes were displayed on a small table in the dining room of David and Peggy Rockefeller’s home on 65th Street in New York. The Rockefeller Hoopoes and porcelain collection were discussed by Family historian Peter Johnson in a 2018 Article. “Live like a Rockefeller”. See Photo of the Rockefeller Pair of Hoopoes. A very rare figurine very much in the Art Deco style of the period made by KPM during the Art Deco era. It is of a couple embraced in a passionate kiss standing with a baby in between them on top of a column on a rectangular base. Left in the white it makes quite the impression! One rarely sees pieces in this style by them. The figure is 13.25 inches tall with the base being 3 inches wide by 3.5 inches deep. The figurine is marked underneath with their under glaze blue scepter mark as well as various impressed numbers, etc. The artist name G. Wied is impressed into the base in the back as shown. The piece is in superb condition with a black kiln dust spot to the back and two firing cracks in the base inside which do not affect the piece at all!
