An early large pewter charger plate. A charming example of domestic pewter from the early 18th century. A piece of history made in the days when the Georgian kings. Reigned over half the world. Original and very rare Victorian Early telephone The Magnet. The hand piece has a Bakelite horn mouth piece which has The Magnet stamped on the copper rim below it. The ear piece is Bakelite on copper rim. The handle is ribbed Bakelite and it has a long button which says press this while speaking. The very basic connections are still intact so could easily be made to work in fact I have checked the bell and it does work. It could even be wired up to be a doorbell! Early 14th to Late 15th Century. I found this with a metal detector around 30 years ago, and had it dated at my local museum where I was working at the time, it was also sent off to be treated for bronze disease. Unfortunately due to a house move, the documentation for the age evaluation and treatment was. Lost in the move, however you can find examples of this if you search online. This is an extremely rare find, as they are normally found in a broken state. I had it on long term loan to the local museum where I worked at the time, but took it back when the museum closed down for refurbishments as I was afraid of it getting mislaid. Sadly the museum in question never re-opened due to over budget spending issues, consequently. I have had it. Kept in an acid free box. Wrapped in acid free tissue paper. In a drawer ever since. I feel it should be appreciated by someone who would take great care of it, and hopefully have it on display. This would be ideal for the serious collector of Medieval antiquities. This listing is for an indeed rare pair of antique P. They have been in my collection for many years, safely displayed in a closed cabinet, in a temperature controlled environment, out of direct sunlight. The few age related flaws have not changed while I’ve had them. So that’s how I’ve decided to pass them on to the next owner, as a pair. I’ve made no changes to them, and can find no changes or repairs to either doll that were done by the previous owner, other then a few tiny stitches to Ann’s apron (pictured). Andy’s clothes have never been removed. The Andy dolls were all dressed at the same time they were assembled. The clothes were never intended to come off. His plaid shirt and blue pants are in wonderful condition with all the original mother of pearl buttons. He’s wearing his original cap, still secured from the factory. Ann is wearing her original pale blue dress (a bit faded) pantaloons and pinafore. All original buttons are present. The top of her pinafore is no longer gathered so I added a small safety pin for closure. She has a thin spot in the material under her smile and a small slit in the fabric of her left leg. I’ve pictured both of her arms where they connect to her body. They have had no repairs or needed to be reinforced. She has a heart in her chest and her patent stamp on her back, showing her to be an early doll dating to the early 1920’s. This pair is a true treasure. Thank you for your interest. I have for sale one of the very first Gledhill Brook oak cased clocking in machines ever made, and looking in my book containing the company serial numbers, this could even be a prototype for future models, as in January 1918 when general production started, the very first serial number was 13800, this machine has the serial number 13362. The solid oak case has been thoroughly stripped and cleaned, finished off with a thorough dark oak beeswax. All the locks and keys, including the lock for the In/Out bar work perfectly and securely. The Gledhill T-bar crank handle is also present. All the brassware has been dipped in horological cleaner, and now sparkles like new. The heavy solid brass Empire chain fusee movement is clean, has been checked, oiled, and is operating perfectly with an excellent swing from the pendulum. Timekeeping is of course excellent from a mechanism of this quality. The heavy cast iron printer has been cleaned, and the blue ribbon re-inked. This printer is a rare item due to it having not just the common hour/minute/day wheels, but also the date and month, not many of these types around. The printer stamps the information on the card as shown in the photos. This unit is in excellent condition, fully operational, and comes with all its keys. Included are 5 clocking in cards. I do have 2 seperate metal card holders (not advertised) if required for sale. Dimensions are 43″ high by 19″ wide by 11 deep. This has to be collection only due to its weight.
