NOTE, HORSE IS NOT INCLUDED. This removable saddle measures about 4″wide by 5″ tall and features Enamel on Brass, Circa Early 20th Century. Technique: Cloisonné involves bending wires (cloisons) to form patterns, filling the cells with colored glass paste, then firing and polishing. Materials: Made with wood, metal (copper, bronze, gilt), ray skin, lacquer, and sometimes inlaid with abalone shell or gold foil. Decoration: Features elaborate floral motifs, nature scenes, and patterns, using vibrant blues, yellows, reds, and black enamels. Purpose: Primarily ceremonial or luxury items for the elite, not simple functional saddles, often made in palace workshops. Historical Significance: Rare surviving examples from the Qing Dynasty (18th century), demonstrating peak artistry in equestrian equipment. HORSE IS NOT INCLUDED.
