A Stunning Rustic Antique Farming Scarifier Made in to a Coffee Table. The scarifier dates to around 1840 but is in good condition for it’s age. EXTREMELY RARE, Particularly Old, Early American Antique New England LINSEY WOOLSEY QUILT. DESCRIPTION: This is a particularly early & incredibly rare linsey woolsey quilt. Nice bright colors and color choices. Very nice, early American colonial design. Body is mustard/light green strips, and 3-sided border, made to drape over sides of bed, has large diamonds. Very nice star, geometric, and sash pattern quilting as shown. ALL HAND STITCHED AND HAND SEWN. Linsey Woolsey is a strong, coarse fabric, common in the US during the colonial era and also among the lower classes in England for the past few hundred years. Known for its warmth and durability. Linsey Woolsey quilts typically have a shiny appearance at least on the top; this one is shiny on the top, while the backing fabric is a coarse material. THIS IS DEFINITELY AN EXTREMELY EARLY QUILT FROM THE DESIGN, PATTERN, STYLE, AND STITCHING CHARACTERISTICS, AND APPEARS TO BE FROM THE LATE 1700’s – EARLY 1800’s. THIS IS ONE OF THE RAREST, EARLIEST QUILTS YOU WILL FIND. The back is in very good condition. Some piecing, appears original with early stitching, to make the most of the fabric available. Also on the front it appears that fabrics/colors, e. Were chosen based on what they had available, as you would expect on an early farm. Binding is original and generally in good condition, but separated from the quilt in places. Some age related damage in places, but pretty decent condition for its age. Some very early staining in one area. This is a great early quilt by itself. It is also a perfect candidate for a complete restoration or could be used in historic fabric classes or education. It could also be used for cut up for high quality quilt projects, or cut up to enable a number of collectors to have an example for framing. I have not laundered this and it should never be laundered in any way. Measures approximately 80″ x 92″. “Rare – Interesting Piece of Phonograph History” ANTIQUE: EARLY 5 CYLINDER PHONOGRAPH UNMARKED – Brass Metal Top Piece was found attached as seen in photo and WAS TREADLE POWERED at the time of discovery. You are getting an antique unmarked early 5 cylinder phonograph (not complete, as I have been told) – that was treadle powered from the late 1800’s. Termites destroyed the table top that the phonograph was sitting on (see actual photos – showing the wood table top that was there before it had to be removed). It was part of a huge antique find in Polk County, Florida recently that was caught up in legalities between two deceased antique collectors for a couple of decades or more. Please look over all the photos as they are part of the description. The piece is untampered with and just the way we found it. NOTE: This paragraph may have nothing to do with this item:This is one of the early dictating machines/phonographs of the 1870’s – 1890’s. Not sure what company or person was behind this one since it is unmarked… Edison, Bell, Tainter, Bell? The dictating machines of this time period used tin, foil and wax over the cylinders. Some were also known as shavers, Volta, Dictaphones, or Graphophones. Tainter was the first, I believe, to put the phonograph on a sewing machine base and use the treadle to power the phonograph cylinder. Antique Early 20th Century wall, post or beam mount accordion style extendable exam light lamp. 1 of a kind lamp available, there is no other exactly like this lamp. Mount is made of cast iron, protrudes from the wall 3″, height of the mount is 7 1/2″, width at mounting area is 2 3/4, black in color. The mount has a 3 bolt or screw pattern mounting flange. The accordion section of the lamp is made of steel which is nickel plated. The accordion arm section has a 1/2 in diameter pin attached to it that drops into the wall mount and can be locked in place via a small set screw, extendable arm can swivel if lock screw is left untightened. Attached to the accordion arm is a brass tubular forward lamp arm. Brass lamp arm does pivot a few degrees for light placement. At the base of the brass lamp arm is a scrolled cast metal piece which acts as a handle for light placement. The scrolled handle is also nickel plated. The lamp is equipped with a brass swivel type pivot joint at the socket, an Arrow paddle socket is attached to the swivel. Lamp is equipped with a very nice cream white colored porcelain 2 1/4 fitter shade. Shade measures 7 1/2″ x 6″ x 4 1/2 in height. All new modern replacement braided black cloth covered electric wire. Plug end is new period correct style. Tested for proper safe function. Extends to 5′ in overall length. Brass lamp pin section is stamped KR, shown in pics.
