Very Rare 9 Draw Telescope 18th/early 19th Century from Heather of London
A maritime 9 draw telescope, this length and draw number is very very rare and sought after. See the pictures for details. It’s marked Heather, London.. Interestingly this period covers the Napoleonic Wars, in which Englands Navy was heavily involved. Also, from 1795 onwards, William Heather was the premier specialist chart publisher in London. I’m happy to be corrected on any information on this telescope, it has its lens cap and the sliding eyepiece lens cover works perfectly. Length closed is a little under seven inches, open just under forty one inches. This would make a brilliant addition to a collection as the number of draws is so very uncommon..
