LOVELY and so very very rare. I’ve never seen this wonderful toile before! This lovely textile is French and dates from the early 1800’s. This textile was once a bed curtain and has the most wonderful scalloped top! Peeking under the scalloped edge you can see more of the wonderful toile!! This textile is backed in a finely woven linen and cotton blend and there is a light cotton batting between the layers. It’s hand quilted in a light , diamond pattern. This panel is hand stitched along the edges and the scalloped top section is trimmed with a homespun linen , all hand stitched. A STUNNING and rare toile! The tones have faded beautifully with time to a beautiful pink and rosy red tone This textile has a hem using red thread to shorten the panel, just under the scallop. These red threads can be removed easily. MEASUREMENTS : The wonderful antique toile measures : 20 inches wide by 107 inches long. CONDITION: This textile is in as found, unwashed condition with storage dust. There ares some glorious hand stitched mends on this piece there is some light damage along the side edge The top of the panel has faded with time and just above the scallop the front fabric has little tears from sun damage. Please use the zoom feature to view condition closely Generally in lovely condition, however certainly not without signs of time and use often inherent in these wonderful textiles. Stylish and Stunning Stag Tall Chest of Six Drawers. This is a stunning six drawer chest in teak. This is part of one of the early ranges designed by John and Sylvia Reid. This has wonderfully styled solid Brass pull ring handles anhandles that very well with the smooth teak veneered drawers. This unit has nicely proportioned drawers with the more slender ones in the middle. The sleek unit is then set on top of sleek teak square legs. These drawers have very strong mid century design influences and a very modern minimalistic design which is very typical of John & Sylvia Reid. Very stylish retro item with very very high end build quality. The condition of these drawers is very good. They are overall for Condition 8.5 out of 10. Very clean top and front. No broken or loose parts and have been very well looked after. Drawers all run smoothly. They have also been refinished in a combination of oils and waxes to give a deep shine to the grain. Lovely item that would fit seamlessly into a ultra contemporary or vintage themed home. No major damage or defects. This item may be collected in person or by a courier of your choice.
