Signet mourning ring design with braided hair locket section to the front. 11mm x 13.5mm approx. Fine pattern surrounding and to shoulders. All modelled in 18 carat yellow gold. All in closed, foiled back. A further old cut diamond to each side. 16mm x 10mm cluster head. CONDITION ; Very good for age. Clean, solid band, quite thin and delicate. Exceptionally fine and rare Georgian Regency period swivel intaglio seal ring – 1820. The seal is red carnelian carved with a shield containing a chevron in the lower third below which is a bush and also the motto MINATUR – and above which are two birds facing to the right. MINATUR is almost certainly short for the Latin expression MINATUR INNOCENTIBUS QUI PARCIT NOCENTIBUS meaning He threatens the innocent who spares the guilty. A superb ring in excellent condition – most unusual shank which is cast, pierced and engraved – and swivels! This is a very elegant, impressive and fine quality ring. Direct from a private London collection. Size seal – 1.6 x 1.3 5 cms. Weight – 9.5 gms. 40 and to USA is 32.40. Antique Early Victorian Australian Opal Ring Rare And Incredible. I think where words fail me, pictures will speak volumes for this stone. A gorgeous and large Victorian opal set in a silver pinched setting was likely once part of a magnificent river necklace of similar opals – can you imagine the impact that would’ve had on a Victorian lady’s neck? This stone is magical and full of life. Every angle reveals flashes of reds, blues, greens, and oranges and in almost any light. This is no wallflower. Some opals only showcase their colours at one or two angles – not this one. A huge finger presence measuring at 25mm x 15mm x 5mm, approximately 10ct. Although a sizeable stone, opals tend to take on a subtlety that cannot be matched with other stones so this is a versatile piece; able to be dressed up or down. Full hallmarks on the inside of the shank for 9k. This was done sometime in its history and I do not want to replace it. Opal is stable and secure in the setting.
