Bailey’s patent Aug 6 67 & Aug 31 58; 6 1/4″ long, 1 7/8″ wide, for parts or repair, rust, wear, chips, dents, cracks, damage, missing parts or miss matched parts are possible, all for parts or repair, restoration, please see all photos, need clean up and musty from long storage, AS IS AS SHOWN, location X2. Large bold enamel sign that makes you smile and very rare. Sign would of been made by Patent Co that stopped trading in 1960. Has mainly age wear around the outside edge of the sign. Measurement size of 40″ x 24″ inches and a heavy sign. Sign has been touched up at some point on the yellow and black around the letter as & ye. RARE EARLY MODEL 19th CENTURY BIRAMS PATENT ANENOMETER AIR METER BAIRD GLASGOW
An early model Anenometer or wind meter signed, on the dial’BAIRD & SON GLASGOW 158B’ & signed on the cross bar BIRAMS PATENT. I believe this was the first of the Birams Patent Anemometers produced around 1848. These first examples were constructed with black painted copper vanes with copper wire holding each vane to each other, whereas the later ones were constructed with aluminium vanes. The dial is small with two working recording dials – please note: minor chip to glass. This essential instrument was used as a safety guide to read ventilation in mines during the 19th Century – it was simply held up via the loop at the top. Original lacquer is stained in places. This is an original Aviation Art Deco DC3 Airplane Lamp designed by Chicago Designer, Ray A. Schober, in the late 30’s. And made by Premium Products MFG. The DC3 maiden flight was Dec17,1935. It has chrome plated metal base, wings, propellers, elevator, and rudder. It has a frosted white glass fuselage with silver painted stripes and windows. The light switch as in the tail and the light and switch are working. This was a very early piece with U S PAT PENDING molded into the glass under the fuselage. The patent which was later issued will be 110196 and they also later began making this in cobalt blue glass. Measurements are approximately 12″ L x 13.25″ W x 8 H. The glass shade is 9.50 L. The reproduction is marked “Saspirilla Deco Designs” both molded in the glass and stamped in the metal under the base. 8432 Masons Ironstone Fruit Stand. A rare early GM & CJ period Mason’s fruit stand. It bears the’Mason’s Patent Ironstone China’ impressed mark in two lines to the underside, and this marks was used around 1820 making this piece George III in period. The stand is decorated in the Japan pattern with oriental style designs in an Imari coloured palette. The stand top is of shallow navette shape with scalloped detail and moulded decoration to the edges. The stand has further gilt decoration with leaf shaped details. This is a rare survivor from this early period of Masons production, and a very unusual and desirable piece. It probably came from a full dinner and serving service and was likely the central feature. As well as fruit this item would be great for fancies and other items. Some wear to the face with some gilt rubbing and minor wear to the pattern. To the central area of the plinth base there are gilt knops which hand down either side of the central platform, one has been knocked off and is lost. There are minor firing flaws as you would expect for this period. Small chip to footrim. The base has warped a little during firing, so the item rocks a bit on a dead flat surface. Height 17 cms (6.75 inches). Width 36 cms (14 inches) across top. Weight 1540 grams (before packing). Stock Code: 8432 FB14-2.
