For sale is a rare set of Antique sport goggles. The container reads in French; “The Ocean Glasses, for Terrestrial or Aerial Sport” They appear to be made entirely of fabric, metal, and glass. Lenses are securely set in the rims. They appear to be in solid condition with everything intact. They even come with the original case. They are about 6 inches wide and fold nicely into their box. DESCRIPTION: Bicyclist “Motorcycle Mike” gravity toy. Lithographed tin, die-cut figure seated on a spoked wheel bicycle. Made to travel down a string track with weight on the bottom for balance and speed. MEASUREMENTS: 7-3/4″ x 11-1/4″. CONDITION: Wear includes pitting, dents, and bending to tin, some scratching, and some losses to colors. This toy is so rare, and very hard to find. POWERS THE BIKE THRU ITS RARE CHAIN DRIVE ACTION. PERIOD EDWARDIAN GENTLEMAN FIGURE, WITH ORIGINAL HAND PAINTED FINISH. VERY NICE OLD MOTORCYCLE, STILL WITH BRIGHT BLUE LITHO. NICE TIN SPOKE WHEELS & ORIG. ORIGINAL FIXED-KEY WINDER TO THE LEFT SIDE. THE MOTORCYCLIST HAS A WONDERFUL ARTICULATED MOVEMENT, GIVING THE IMPRESSION HE IS “PEDAL STARTING ” HIS BIKE. STILL WITH THE UNDERSIDE LITTLE BALANCE WHEELS. WONDERFUL OLD PIECE NOW OVER 100 YEARS……. The rider displays with typical paint loss/wear, chips, flaking as is common to these earlier German toys. Nice bright tin litho, with just little surface marks, chips, scuffs etc…. Great rot free state. No repaint or touch up. Motorcyclist has lost his left arm to shoulder hang tabs i have created a simple metal bracket with tabs, which simply slots into the original shoulder slots….. The rider’s underside upper left arm, simply requires securing permanently to this bracket…. With a drop of solder ideally….. But to leave for the next owner, i have had the arm very securely fixed in place with a small blue tack fixing/so easily removeable if desired. If you look at the images, you probably wouldn’t know the left arm has been repaired this way….. But i always try to be honest. MOTORCLE RIDER SITS GREAT ON HIS OLD SADDLE.
