
RARE LEEDS PEARLWARE HIGH DOME LARGE COFFEE POT, CIRCA 1790s of fluted pyriform rising from a circular base, the cover with high fluted dome and printed acorn-form finial, with black transfer designs depicting Country Houses & Deers, Pines forest scenes and a scrolling spout and strap handle. The black Transfer makes it a rarer example than the blue transfer examples. The use of the transfer print method was new at the stage the pot was made and there are slight mistakes in the application which makes the Coffee pot even rarer. Approx 10 inches high Condition: A chip to spout, discoloration, minor rough spots, and a very small chip on the bottom rim which has been glued a long time ago Age circa 1790s and there are not many examples around as Pearlware has a very fragile body. This is an antique item decorated in Early Tranfer Georgian piece, making it a unique and collectible piece for enthusiasts of pottery and ceramics. We post to all over the world.
