This is a beautiful and rare Oxidised Copper and bronze Lyhne Lamp early example of these lamps and therefore makes it a sought after example of early 20th century industrial task lighting. The lamp is particularly desirable because of the materials used its unique colouration to other Lyhne lamps the bonded oxidisation against the copper is quite beautiful and age related patina makes this lamp highly desirable. I truly have not seen another Lyhne Lamp like this for the reasons mentioned. There are no dings dangs dints or damage to this lamp it is quite perfect. The later ones also in copper and then brass are highly polished with a thin layer of copper playing and also come more abundantly with more elaborate ornamentation. This lamp has not been polished only rewired and Pat tested and is a sound investment and will sit well in any room space contemporary or traditional. These lamps were designed and patented (1911) by Anker S. Lyhne of Bridgeport, Connecticut, patent and information stamped impressed into the weighted cast iron base. Lyhne Lamp has become a sought-after example of early-20th-century industrial task lighting. The arm can be adjusted in height and is articulated up and down using the original dial handle. It has a unique and ingenious parabolic reflector that on the shade, that can be rotated and adjusted 360 degrees to any desired position to shed light on a desired position and also protect eyes from strain and glare.
