Genuine Original Cast Iron Irish P&T Pole Mounted Post Box. Made by DERBY CASTINGS LIMITED DERBY. The firm Andrew Handyside was one of the earliest to cast post boxes. And went on to hold many GPO contracts, the company went into liquidation in 1930 and a new firm Derby Castings emerged in 1931 they cast some wall boxes and lamp boxes between 1931 and 1933 they only made a few P & T boxes then they ceased trading that makes this box very rare It has been fully refurbished i did not paint the inside as it was in good condition for its age. It has its original Hovis Chubb Lock and 1 chubb key and 2 cut keys. The original lock the bolt is longer but shorter in width very rare this type of lock as show in in photos, Tab Holder letter cage, Original enamel bi lingual place plate and a full set of original enamel day tabs with original brass holder and a new plastic place plate with a full set of Irish day tabs and 2 hoops 4no back plates 4 no dome nuts green or stainless steel to fill hole in side of box if hoops are not used It comes with a 1.9mtr long 115mm diameter steel pole for concreting in Or the pole can be shortened to 1,6mtrs with a base plate welded on to fix to a hard standing complete with all necessary security fixings bolts It also comes with a tin of touch paint. This is a very unique and early time period cast iron spittoon. It is in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, holes, or structural rust. There may be some minor signs of wear due to age. The top is coated with an enamel coating. The rest of the piece is raw cast iron and is very heavy! This is a very nice antique piece and would be a wonderful addition to any collection.

Very Rare Antique Lambeth English Delft Iron Red 13.5 Faience Charger. This wonderful and very antique faience delftware platter was acquired from the estate of a former antique dealer/collector along with a note card which reads in part ” large Lambeth English Delft Charger all iron red with arches and geometric basket 13 1/2″. The only all iron red I have seen. The charger had some glaze skips and a few old chips to the rim, the largest being about. Otherwise there is the expected crazing adding beauty in my opinion. There are no major chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Sorry, no international sale on this item.
