RARE EARLY to MID 18th. CENTURY LARGE HAND PAINTED. DELFT WALL PLAQUE of a RURAL SCENE. This is a wonderful early to mid 18th. Century hand painted blue and white Delft tin glazed plaque of Dutch origin. In a square form with decorative cantered corners it depicts a lovely hand painted stylised image of a rural scene on the edge of a town environment with a group of three beneath a tree with agricultural implements in the foreground. It is contained inside a raised decorative border with a suspension point above, while the reverse has a light blue glaze and an under-glaze hand painted’P’ – see photographs and details. It measures 10 3/4 (27.25cm) Sq. Approx; and is in very good condition for a piece of tin glazed faience of its age however, there are two shallow very, very (they may even have been present when it was made) old sliver chips to the reverse bottom right hand edge and some small frits to its face side, to report – see photographs and details. This is a lovely, unusual Delft hand painted Wall Plaque with an interesting subject, which with a low start price should get a good deal of interest from all collectors. Without the frame : Height 7,8 cm 3.07 in. Width 6,7 cm 2.64 in. With the frame : Height 9,2 cm / 3.62 in. Width 8,2 cm / 3.23 in. No damage on the portrait. To be noted that the frame is original. Amazing Antique Late Early 19th. C hand embroidery pansies on moire silk wedding flat open heel slippers top part. Possible it’s pattern from 1860’s “Godey’s Lady’s” Magazine. One panel with two identical embroidery on different direction (see my photo). Cream color moire silk with cotton lining. Amazing handwork with tiny-tiny stitching on the back (see last photos). Amazing condition for the fabric over 100 years old. Fabric without stain, soils or tears. In some places fabric is torn from the age and specially where folding parts. Dark pin marks by the edges (see my photo) but overall is a BEAUTIFUL! Measurement is approx: 23″ x 15.3″.
