The globe is signed DIETRICH REIMERS / HIMMELSGLOBUS / BEARBEITET von ROBERT HENSELING. It is made with 12 lithographed paper gores on cardboard sphere mounted in a unusual iron frame on wooden baseplate, horizon and full meridian ring. Paper partly rubbed and very dirty, with some small lacks (see pictures). The globe measures 21cm diameterand 34cm height ; the diameter of the frame is 29 cm. A very rare early Globe Company (later to become Globe Wernicke) letter filing cabinet, c1880s. Made of oak with 15 filing sections, original drawers to 5 of them with original brass clipboard to each, pull out tray. Missing the remaining drawers and roller shutter. A really interesting piece of early Globe furniture in overall good condition. Dimensions: H198cm, W30cm, D50cm. Drawers: H10cm, W26cm, D39cm.
