Scarce Antique Early American Tall Teapot Signed G. George Richardson teapots are in the collections of Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Brooklyn Museum, and others. Lovely Queen Anne style with japanned (Asian-lacquered) scrolled handle. Richardson” and “B on bottom. Size: 9.5″ tall x 9.5″ wide (handle to spout, side profile) x 5 wide (at center profile). Condition: Overall solid with working lid and unblemished japanned handle; 2 small dings to the right of the spout and 1 linear ding to the left of the spout under the middle seam (all shown in last 2 close-up photos). Some surface pitting to spout.

I have for sale a rare George I silver kitchen pepper. The base has only been struck with the makers mark which is quite usual for early small pieces of silver. I have not been able identify the maker, It looks as if the makers mark has been struck several times but it is only clear in one of the marks. The style and design clearly dates this to the early 18th century, most likely George I but no later then George II and certainly pre 1740. It is in very good condition, the only minor damage is to the pierced top in a couple of areas however this is acceptable and to be expected from a piece of this age. The pepper measures 2 3/4 inches high.

Small dings, surface scratches, and light tarnishing. Warm copper tones bleeding through on high points. Slight separation between tube and tray on one sconce, evidence of an old repair (see photo 14). Slight lean to one of the sticks but fine. Wear commensurate with age and use. This is a 1787 George III sixpence. It is a silver coin struck by the Bank of England and given to favored clients around Christmas. Key details: Material: Silver, approximately 92.5% fineness. Weight: Around 3 grams. Diameter: Approximately 21.2 mm. Obverse: Features a laureate and draped bust of King George III facing right. The inscription reads “GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA” which translates to “George III by the Grace of God”. Reverse: Shows a crowned cruciform shield of Royal arms representing England and Scotland, Ireland, and France with the Hanoverian shield at the center. The inscription reads M. “, which translates to “King of Great Britain, France and Ireland, Defender of the Faith, Duke of Brunswick and Luneberg, High Treasurer and Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. Rarity: The 1787 sixpence was only minted for one year, making it a collectible item.
