I had a wonderful opportunity to acquire a gorgeous collection of early 19th century, circa 1820’s chintz. All English printed for the American market. A prestigious fine collection from a New England collector. I’ll be listing them all in separate listings. This listing is for a gorgeous early brown floral chintz. Roller printed & hand block printed. I salvaged the best parts of this one as some had damage inherent of both block printing & some early brown dyes over time, particularly iron oxide. Fortunately this length is still supple & appears overall good. I would probably still handle it with some delicacy. So good for things that won’t be heavily handled or used a lot. Quilt repair, framing, possibly a cover for a stool or similar etc. And excellent in a collection or archive as these are all very rare survivors. So early & so hard to find. Measures 23″ wide by 42″ long. If desiring the full panel, please enter a quantity of “2” & you’ll receive a length that is 23″ wide by 84″ long. The vase is of a beautiful four-footed pedestal form with twin open-top handles and lid with pointed finial. The vase is intricately hand-decorated with pink, purple and yellow blossoms with foliage and beautiful gilt beading and scrollwork on a white and turquoise ground. VERY RARE Antique Victorian Coin Silver Floral Christening Cup Mid 1800’s. This is a very rare and beautiful piece and was a wonderful Christening gift for Thomas. It is intricately crafted with beautifully detailed flowers. Just short of 3 1/2 inches in height, it has a diameter of 3 1/4 inches at the top, and weighs 154.3 grams. This is in excellent condition and there is the appropriate amount of wear and patina associated with its age. Please feel free to ask any questions or request additional pictures. Silversmith Robert Rait was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1807, and was listed as a Jeweler, Silversmith, and Retailer in New York City from 1833. He passed away in 1869. His brother appears to have been David Crichton Rait, a well-known silversmith in Scotland. This mark is interesting because the R. Rait is stamped over another mark. They also worked exclusively for Tiffany & Company after 1851. In 1868 silver laws were passed requiring silver to be marked Sterling or 925, or Coin. Before that year it wasn’t as regulated, and coin silver was often not marked as such. Coin silver is less pure than sterling, but can be up to 90 percent silver. Check out this one by the same company, but a few years later while working for Tiffany & Co..
Rare 18th Century New Hall Porcelain Espresso Cup Green Floral Antique 5.5cm. Dating to the late 18th century, this exquisite piece features a hand-painted green floral garland pattern, adorned with delicate clusters of red and yellow flowers and a green-trimmed rim. The Georgian-era design, with its elegant vine-like garland, evokes the charm of historical English tableware, making it a must-have for collectors of antique porcelain, New Hall ceramics, or 18th-century artifacts. Pattern: Hand-painted green floral garland with clusters of red and yellow flowers, accented by a green-trimmed rim. Shape: Classic espresso cup with a curved handle, typical of 18th-century English porcelain. Finish: Glossy white porcelain with vibrant, hand-painted overglaze enamels, characteristic of New Hall craftsmanship. Markings: Unmarked, as is common for some early New Hall pieces, but the design strongly suggests a New Hall origin. In very good condition for its age, with minor interior hairline cracks that do not detract from its beauty or functionality (see photos for details). The vibrant colors and sturdy form make this a timeless addition to any collection of Georgian or Regency-era porcelain. Similar green garland patterns have been observed in New Hall tea sets from this period, suggesting this cup may be part of a larger, historically significant set. A rare find for collectors of 18th-century English ceramics, priced to reflect its condition and historical value. Themes: Floral, Georgian, Antique Porcelain. Dimensions: 5.5cm H x 7cm W x 5.2cm D. Origin: Likely English, possibly New Hall, Staffordshire. Era: Late 18th Century (Pre-1800), Georgian Era. Open to offers-secure this rare 18th-century New Hall porcelain treasure today! Please review all images and details carefully. All sales are final.
I had a wonderful opportunity to acquire a gorgeous collection of early 19th century, circa 1820’s chintz. All English printed for the American market. A prestigious fine collection from a New England collector. I’ll be listing them all in separate listings. This listing is for an outstanding & amazingly beautiful early urn floral chintz. Please zoom into all the lovely elements as it is beautifully created. Very overcast today so not certain my photos do this outstanding piece justice. Appears in lovely condition for it’s age with some variance to the depth of the colors, some surface patina & a few small random age spots. None detract from this extraordinary specimen. So early & so hard to find. Measures 26″ wide by 43″ long. If desiring the full panel, please enter a quantity of “2” & you’ll receive a length that is 26″ wide by 86″ long.
