RARE 17TH CENTURY MEMENTO MORI RING. For sale is an extremely rare early English 17th Century Memento Mori silver and gold gilt ring. This is a known and extremely rare example of a 17th Memento Mori Ring, and can be accurately dated to the early 1600s. The ring still bears some small traces of its gilding on solid silver. What I love about this piece is how wonderfully illustrated the skull is, and so typical of the period, unlike anything we see today. The inscription reads (BEHOLD THE ENDE) a reminder that we all must die one day. A very rare ring, and a unique piece of history. The ring is from my own private collection, and is a ring that would look great in any museum or private collection. This ring is certainly one of the rarest of it type! And a real grail piece in any collection! Ring size measures (UK P) (US 8.5) and weighs 5.6 grams. Ring will also come with nice antique box as shown.
For sale is a very rare antique Early lighting brass sawtooth lighting trammel, English origin. Trammels were used to adjust the height of lamps and lighting sources. I found one reference online claiming it is paired with brass chandelier. A very unique design of a bird for the adjusting hook. There is also a punched manufacturing signature of C S with a tree motif. This item is very stable with secure connections. Heavy build, common for early brass items. Adjusts from about 22 to 36 inches long. It would be a great item to add to your collection of antique brass/ early lighting devices. Feel free to check out my other antique and collectible listings.

I had a wonderful opportunity to acquire a gorgeous collection of early 19th century, circa 1820’s chintz. All English printed for the American market. A prestigious fine collection from a New England collector. I’ll be listing them all in separate listings. This listing is for an outstanding & amazingly beautiful early urn floral chintz. Roller printed & hand block printed. Gorgeous early palette of rose, greens, blues & browns. The ground is in the soft ochre range with some variance to the depth of color which is how the dye settled over time. The scale is large. Please zoom into all the lovely elements as it is beautifully created. Very overcast today so not certain my photos do this outstanding piece justice. Appears in lovely condition for it’s age with some variance to the depth of the colors, some surface patina & a few small random age spots. None detract from this extraordinary specimen. Excellent for many authentic early period projects & quilt repair, cushions, framing, possibly a cover for a stool or similar etc. And excellent in a collection or archive as these are all very rare survivors. So early & so hard to find. Measures 26″ wide by 43″ long. If desiring the full panel, please enter a quantity of “2” & you’ll receive a length that is 26″ wide by 86″ long. This listing is for a rare antique skeleton clock. The clock is English and it dates to the early 19th century. The clock was made by Edward Scales of Manchester, England. According to “Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World” by GH Baillie, Scales was active in Manchester during the early 19th century, starting around 1800. The base is made from nice burled wood. The time only chain fusee movement does appear to be in overall good condition. But it has been in storage for quite some time. The clock could use some routine servicing and the fusee cable needs to be replaced. Glass dome is missing. 11 x 6 x 14.5 inches.
