Rare Antique Solid Silver Dutch Import Embossed Box Early 1800’s – 350 Grams. Here we have a Rare Antique early 1800’s hallmarked Dutch foreign Imported Solid Silver Box also fully hallmarked London 1891 at the time of importation however i have found that the box might be a lot earlier going back to the very early years of the 1800. The box is fully Embossed scroll and flowers around the sides with a fully gilded interior and the scene on the lid depicts activity within a household around 1657, this date is written in Roman numerals within the scene. The box itself has had a few knocks over the years but nothing excessive as can be seen in the photos. The measurements are 132mm x 85mm x 53mm depth. The weight is 351 grams. 7 5/8 inch tall. Amber-colored cylin der-shaped antique patent’quack’ bottle that o riginally contained a HEROIN LACED medicine. This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand B lown I nto M old bottle (BIM) with a tooled top, dating it back to the 1800’s. Bottle embossed : ” Glyco – Heroin /’SMITH’ “. Base of bottle embossed : MARTIN H. / CHEMISTS / NEW YORK. Condition : Bottle has some age related stain (patina) and wear. NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. Age : An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand-blown bottle (Blown-In-Mold = BIM) with a tooled-top, ca. T hese bottle contained a patent medicine and one of the main ingredients in it was Heroin, Glyico Heroin. Heroin was used over a century ago as an ingredient in cough syrup, to suppress the cough and suppressing the discomfort that is associated with it. Yet it did much more than that as patients came to find out that they kept using the syrup long after the cough was gone. Heroin is one of the most addictive substances known to mankind. This is one of the very few antique bottles that actually has the word ” HEROIN ” embossed in the glass which makes it quite appealing. It is not a commonly found bottle and these are getting increasingly hard to f ind , especially in good condition, check it out! Base of bottle embossed : MARTIN H. / CHEMISTS / NEW YORK. Condition : Bottle has overall wear and stain (patina) from age and use, and it has a shallow surfaced bubble. Overall it is an excellent solid bottle and these is nothing specifically wrong with it. NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. PLEASE see pictures for better idea of overall condition. Age : A ORIGINAL ANTIQUE hand-blown bottle (Blown-In-Mold = BIM) with a tooled-top, ca. T hese bottle contained a patent medicine and one of the main ingredients in it was Heroin, Glyico Heroin.
