Rare Antique Solid Silver Dutch Import Embossed Box Early 1800’s – 350 Grams. Here we have a Rare Antique early 1800’s hallmarked Dutch foreign Imported Solid Silver Box also fully hallmarked London 1891 at the time of importation however i have found that the box might be a lot earlier going back to the very early years of the 1800. The box is fully Embossed scroll and flowers around the sides with a fully gilded interior and the scene on the lid depicts activity within a household around 1657, this date is written in Roman numerals within the scene. The box itself has had a few knocks over the years but nothing excessive as can be seen in the photos. The measurements are 132mm x 85mm x 53mm depth. The weight is 351 grams. Heroin was used over a century ago as an ingredient in cough syrup, to suppress the cough and suppressing the discomfort that is associated with it. This is one of the very few antique bottles that actually has the word ” HEROIN ” embossed in the glass which makes it quite appealing.
