A very nice heavy rolled gold or gold pinchbeck chain with very beautiful rare early type oval banded links a large bolt ring and bell clip. Probably once worn as a pocket watch chain but nowadays these chains. Are more often worn as neckchains. The chain measures 7.30mm in width and is 28 inches (711.20mm) including clip and bolt ring. Weight 48.2 grams. A chain or this weight in gold at today’s prices would no doubt cost a small fortune. ROLLED GOLD OR GOLD FILLED. Rolled gold is a very thin sheet of gold that is laminated to a lesser metal (usually brass). The two layers of metal are heated under pressure to fuse them together. 19th CENTURY EARLY OLD ORIGINAL WROUGHT IRON RARE LARGE HEARTH FIREPLACE CRANE. This one is large and unique and honestly im not sure exactly how it functioned and i may not even have the right side up in the pictures. It has a unusual hook end and center chain. The crane measures 51 1/4” in length and is thick and bold. The chain measures approximately 33” in length. An outstanding piece to repurpose in an appropriate period large hearth fireplace. RARE OLD ORIGINAL 17th CENTURY PILGRIM ERA EARLY HAND FORGED WROUGHT IRON HEARTH FIREPLACE CHAIN TRAMMEL POT HOOK. From collection comes this exceptionally rare very early adjustable trammel hook and its as early as they get. It measures 46 1/2” in total hanging length. It has a superb early iron surface giving it outstanding authentic true age character. Each hook end has two top rams horn hooks for adjustability on the ring chain. There is a separation in one of the ring links shown on the picture but it doesnt affect its hanging integrety at all. A great piece for genuine old word primitive display.
