An old straw filled teddy bear. 51 cm long x 26.5 cm high x 18 cm wide. There are a number of old patch repairs, some holes in the fabric and an opening to the top of the back left foot. The bear has a lean to the left as the left legs are slightly misshapen. It has a great aged look and displays well. I have taken a number of pictures to give as accurate a description as possible. The bear is modelled on all fours and has real charachter. It is staw filled with white stuffing to the feet. The bear has been well loved over the years and is a rare survivor. If you would like to collect in person, cash on collection is fine. All items will be professionally and carefully packed using professional packing materials. Here I present this early rare bit worn early Steiff brown Teddy Baby bear. He is fully jointed, head, arms and legs and has glass eyes. He wears his original red leather collar no bell around his neck, no Id. Good used vintage condition, with obvious wear to left foot pad. Mohair clean and nice still with a bit of thinning and matting but displays very well still. No holes except on left foot pad. Please view all photos carefully as they are part of my description. Bear is wire jointed and can be displayed standing, sitting, or on all fours. Very nicely cast and decorated in high detail, in typical fashion for Hertwig dolls, bears and other figures. Item is unmarked, but these are known Hertwig products. Item measures about 3 inches (7.6 cm) tall when standing. Note a rare polar bear on a separate listing! No chips or cracks. Paint nearly 100% intact. Bottom of right foot shows a slight hollow as manufactured.
