RARE EARLY to MID 19TH CENTURY AME RI CAN ANTIQUE SIGNED GOODWIN & WEBSTER OVOID, HANDLED, SALT-GLAZED STONEWARE JUG, with COBALT BLUE STAMPING on FRONT. SIDEWALL & COBALT BLUE SLIP GLAZE. On HANDLE TOP & BASE, WHEEL-THROWN. HANDLE & WIRE CUT BASE. Early to mid-19th century Ame ri can antique blue slip decorated salt-glazed stoneware jugs & crocks. 10 ½” Height x 6 ½” Width (Body). X 4 Base Width. This is a rare and very scarce early Ame ri can stoneware jug from a Boston, MA maker and early mercantile entity, especially in this kind of very well-preserved overall condition and especially with this coveted, early ovoid, antique form. There are literally no noticeable flea-bites or hairline cracks, bruises or glaze flakes on this outstanding piece of early Ame ric ana. There’s only a very small, slight bit of ceramic loss, right along the lower margin of the wire cut base, where the jug was removed from the throwing wheel. The salt glazed exterior now has a time-tempered, variegated range of color, involving putty white, pewter gray, yellow ochre and flashes of burnt sienna. The handle’s top and base have finger painted cobalt blue slip glaze ringed decoration. This is a magnificent, early Ame ri can, antique salt-glazed, ovoid stoneware handled jug, with Boston, Massachusetts provenance. Unabused, it largely escaped the ravages, trials and tribulations of time. The real, unbastardized and undisturbed deal. Simply gorgeous and in nearly originally constituted condition. If it wasn’t for the very small, slight bit of loss along the lower margin of the cut base plate, I could say with confidence that it was even in fact’museum-quality. Only a simple, small flea-bite and nearly unnoticeable amount of ceramic loss along its base, prevents me from making this unusual claim, especially for a piece of antique Ame ri can stoneware, that’s now between 170 to 190 years old. Very Good-Excellent overall antique condition. The item “RARE EARLY 19TH C ANTIQUE GOODWIN & WEBSTER, BOSTON MA OVOID STONEWARE STMPD JUG” is in sale since Monday, October 19, 2020. THANK YOU FOR VIEWING MY LISTINGS. This listing is for. Automatic is the KEY Word.. The following is what I have learned. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS if you have any. I have described this the best I can. As is where is AS DESCRIBED. And ASK questions if you have any. (6 years short) and WORKING. Unfortunately I was only able to acquire this Master Clock. BUT if YOU have the relay and the Bell. Then you will want to add this to your collection ;=. The Wood Frame measures about 8 square and is made to hang the clock and hide the terminals and it fits tightly – it looks homemade and weighs about 1.1/2 pounds Mahogany I THINK. I would want a different display if I were to keep it. Either a nice panel to hang on the wall. Or the curved desk display. The clock weighs close to 6 pounds! It is about 3.1/2 Deep. The dial states that this was made for. SPAULDING & COMPANY, CHICAGO. The Brass bezel measures about 5.1/2″ across and has a small vintage dent on the outside edge (see picture) This unscrews so everything can be accessed from the front – The clock face and hands are in very good condition and measures about 4″ across. The back is sealed closed. The patent number of the clock is December 31, 1901 and the MATCHING serial number on the movement and the back of the clock is number 182790 and that dates it between 1925 and 1929 but closer to 1926! The movement is CLEAN and has been sealed – I do not have a history of the clock and it does not appear to have been worked on – I wound it and after a slow start it ran and chimed as it should for the past week 1 bell for 12:30 2 bells for 1 Three bells for 1:30 up to 8 bells repeating for 4 8 and 12 (the ships watch). I have not re wound it. This is what the advanced collectors collect. From my research I found that Chelsea Clocks. Are owned by a long list of. James Arness Bing Crosby Barry Goldwater Bob Hope BILLY JOEL Rocky Marciano Aristotle Onasis David Letterma n John Wayne General Douglas MacArthur Each member of the Greatful Dead! ______________________ your name here. Movies the Chelsea Clocks were in. The Hunt For Red October. Clear and Present Danger. I think that would be on a good day with the wind blowing in the right direction without the high seas! I can start it with a reserve and never sell it OR I can list it with a fair starting price and let the big boys come out and play – I choose not to start it 99 cents and hope…. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU HAVE ANY. Stay safe and be well – Dave. Please review the description and photos. And ask any necessary questions. THIS IS ORIGINAL – VINTAGE AND. Don’t let my low starting price fool you. YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT. DON’T MISS YOUR CHANCE. THE US 48 STATES. My Choice of INSURED. Double boxed and well protected. This will probably weigh close to 10 pounds. After I package it. Clock and Frame weigh 7.1/2 # alone. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS FOR CONDITION. As a Photo is worth 1,000 words. Please feel free to contact me. VERY RARE EARLY-MID 19TH CENTURY FANEUIL HALL, BOSTON, MA ANTIQUE AME RI CAN OIL PAINTING ON CUT-OUT TIN DOOR PLATE, W/ARABESQUE SHAPED ENDS, BLACK. ENAMEL & SCROLLED GOLD GILT. DECORATIVE LINE & DRILLED. Early-mid 19th century Ame ri can painting & depictions of early Ame ri can period architecture. 9″ Height x 3″ Width. This incredibly rare and simply exquisite early to mid 19th century Ame ri can miniature oil painting of the famous, iconic architectural early structure, known as Boston, Massachusetts’ Faneuil Hall, is on a cut-out tin door plate, featuring arabesque cut-out ends, with black enamel and gold gilt scrolled decorative line, is in wonderfully well-preserved overall antique condition. It remains untouched and unmolested and in absolutely 100% original antique condition. It was just discovered on the North Shore of Massachusetts. This most likely late Federal to early Sheraton-period New England, early-mid 19th century antique architectural accessory relic, is an Ame ric ana gem and an important Ame ri can cultural artifact. Notwithstanding the fact that present-day Faneuil Hall (now Faneuil Hall Marketplace) is the 4th most-visited historic site out of the top 25 historic sites in all of the Unit ed Sta tes, this hand-painted, antique door plate features a vertical-format central, entirely hand-painted rendition of the iconic Federal-style Faneuil Hall, redesigned and expanded in the early 19th century by famed Ame ri can architect Charles Bulfinch, considered to be the father of Ame ri can architecture and the nascent nation’s first true Ame ri can architect. Very Good to Excellent overall antique condition. It remains untouched and in unmolested original antique condition. It is without damage except for some very minor black enamel loss around where an original metal fasteners once held the cut-out and pressed tin door plate snugly against an exterior door. Absent are dings, dents, abrasions, loss or scuffs to its remarkable surface. There’s also a single spot of black enamel loss at the very apex point of the the top arabesque cut-out top of the doorplate. However, the miniature oil painting of Faneuil Hall remains undisturbed and doesn’t suffer an abrasion or scuff to the entirety of its surface. This is an important piece of Ame ri can national cultural heritage and of our nascent architectural design impulse, featuring the work of the well-known father of Ame ri can Federal-period architecture, Charles Bulfinch, the architect responsible for none other than the famous Boston, Massachusetts Statehouse, North Church in Boston, Massachusetts General Hospital and the US Capital building in Washington, DC. This antique door plate is nearly originally constituted and in nearly museum quality condition. An extraordinary and important historical discovery. Things don’t get much more exciting or more authentic than this. The item “RARE EARLY-MID 19TH C FANEUIL HALL BOSTON ANTIQUE OIL PAINTING ON TIN DOOR PLATE” is in sale since Monday, January 20, 2020.
