RARE Antique Early 1900s Soccer Football Leather Boots Shoes Vintage Size US9 42

Early 1900s Soccer/Football Boots. No branding – a common occurrence for football boots before the 1920s, when many boots were made by local shoemakers to order for teams. Instead of modern studs, these boots used wooden or leather strips (sometimes with metal reinforcement) nailed across the sole. This was an early engineering solution that provided better traction on soft or muddy grass. Increase the contact area with the ground, which prevented slipping. Prevent twisting of the foot – in those days, shoes were made quite rigid and dense to protect the foot. Were easier to manufacture than individual studs, especially considering the technology of the early 20th century. After around century of existence they. No repairs were produced and still not needed. They are thick and not falling apart, absolutely wearable! Size – no indication, insole measured at 27.2cm, which is size US9, EU42. This is a VERY RARE hard to find leather journal cover. It features a Buffalo nickel Indian head snap closure for the journal leather cover. It has 2 inner pockets. The journal is in excellent condition for its age. Has a beautiful engraved leather design on the 2 corners. Measurements are in the pictures.
