Being offered is a rare handwrought circa 1955 married metals – silver, copper and brass – bowl by Los Castillo of Taxco, Mexico. Los Castillo, the silversmith who was known for conceiving the technique of married metals, producing eye-catching decorative objects. This handmade bowl is an excellent example, with the bowl conforming to the shape and angle of a clam shell, with an applied faux pearl perhaps a real pearl? On the inside of the bowl and a starfish motif at the edge of interior, all sitting on three ball feet. Dimensions are 8 inches long by 4 inches wide by 1 1/2 inches high. This item is strong in form and shows a wonderful overall aged patina as shown in the photos provided.
