Beautiful Early Big Rare Antique Staffordshire Spaniel Dog’s. Each One weights in at over 4 pounds(See photo’s of them on scale). These show all the obvious signs that they are real. Typical old base does not have casting holes. Note typical flaws such as firing lines, glaze frizzle, bumps and pitting(Shown in Photo’s with green arrow as you will see a bump and un-glazed spot on back tail on one) 3. Paint from the sides has dripped down over the edges of the base like on these you will see. Shows fine brush strokes on the muzzle and two dog’s are never painted the same like these two. Firing holes were made to release expanding gas which builds up inside hollow figures during firing. Typical firing holes average about one-eighth inch in diameter. Firing holes may or may not be present in original dogs. They may appear in the base or other locations such as the back 6. Most gold trim used on original dogs has a softer appearance than new gold trim & rarely has a mirror-like reflection, it is usually dull and almost always shows some random wear. Most gold trim used on original dogs has a softer appearance than new gold trim. Crazing in new glazes is often darkened with shoe polish, dark paint or vegetable stains either at the place of manufacture or after a piece has entered the market. Although many old pieces do show crazing, crazing is not in itself any guarantee or an indicator of when, where or how a piece of pottery was made, you’ll see that the old glaze/and crazing these dogs remain consistent from the underneath of the base through the body and face. The One to the right has some damage-either from it’s age or it took a bump at some point it’s very long life. The good news is-it looks to have never come apart into pieces-it’s tight and this area and not at all loose or coming apart. If you look at the detailed photo’s at the bottom with “small stick on green arrows” you will see where the damage suddenly stops. This is the only area of damage to both dogs. Beautiful Rare All Original Antique S4h Simon & Halbig Early Shoulder Head Doll
BEAUTIFUL RARE ALL ORIGINAL ANTIQUE S4H SIMON & HALBIG EARLY SHOULDER HEAD DOLL. The Beauty of her Face is just exquisite. Her dainty painted facial feature are so detailed. The bisque of the Shoulder Head is very fine and smooth, with an even complexion tint which is paler than the later dolls. She has a cut away crown with high forehead. What makes her even rarer are her sleeping eyes, only a very few of the Early Shoulder Head S&H Dolls had weighted sleeping eyes. She has the beautiful blown glass blue two tone iris with threading to give a more natural look. Her eye shape is that of an Early Shoulder Head Doll, Almond Shape with the outer corner being tapered. Also noted the detail of the molding of the upper eyelid, which is an indication of an Early Shoulder Head Doll. With her thick painted eyelashes which gives an appearance of a bottom liner, to where they are extend outward to a fine dainty line. Her eyebrows are thick and long, and are set on the superciliary arch close to the eye cut, they are flat not molded which is another indicator of an Early Shoulder Head Simon & Halbig Doll. She is a closed mouth doll with pink lips and a darker red line separating her upper and lower lips, with slightly uplifting outer corners, creating a slightly shy smile. With light pink cheeks to enhance her lips. She has small dainty pierced ears with the piercing goes into the head with is another indication of an Early Doll. She retains her original blond mohair wig with attached cork pate. No hairlines, cracks or chips to head. She is a very Early Simon and Halbig with her Marker Mark incised on the front, S4H. Her arms are of porcelain to above the elbow, with gracefully cupped hands and separate thumb. No chips or breaks to fingers, her left hand appears to have lost it’s top finish as it is very shiny, not a distraction from it’s beauty. Appears to have a kid leather body with upper arms, and cloth legs. You may see the tear of the right foot in the picture. Dress, full slip and full onsie, corset and apron. Please note the shredding to the top of dress and apron. Missing one metal piece to the corset. It appears her original clothing have never been off her. Measurements: Height of total doll is approx. PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES!!!! THANK YOU FOR LOOKING!!!!! I do offer layaway… With terms of one third down and the balance due in 30 days. BEAUTIFUL RARE EARLY 18TH CENTURY GEORGIAN SOLID SILVER CREAM JUG. This is a Beautiful rare early 18th Century Georgian Solid Silver Cream Jug, i would estimate this wonderful Jug dates to circa 1730 but as the marks are hard to read it could be even earlier, making it at least 260 years old or more, the design and decoration to the body is stunning from its embossed decoration of the most exquisite flowers and foliage inside panels with each panel having a different flower within, to the front of the body of this wonderful early cream jug you will see a cartouche surrounded by foliage, the cartouche has engraved initials, the spout and rim of the cream jug has a beautiful scalloped design, this then sits on 3 shell capped feet, this is then finished with a stunning double C scroll handle and to the top it has a flying leaf cap design, the inside still retains traces of its original gold gilt finish, the quality of the craftsmanship is superb, This early 18th Century Cream Jug would have once belonged to a wealthy 18th Century Family and used daily , this was in a time many years ago when things where so very different. Circa 1730 maybe earlier. 10.5 cm height to the top of the handle. All Antique silver items will show some signs of wear, which only adds to the history of the object….. Track Page Views With.
