Please see item description. We offer this rare and stylish antique pair Italian maiolica tiles decorated with entertainers and dating from the early 19th century. The rectangular stoneware tiles are thickly potted and each has a scene with figures entertaining painted in coloured enamels on a white cracquel ground. One has a figure performing a hand stand while supporting two seated figures on a plank supported on his feet while the other tile is painted with an act involving a blind folded girl by a table with various shaped stones. The tiles are not marked. Condition The tiles are offered in excellent condition considering their age. There is no restoration and while having some glaze chipping around the edges this does not impact on the wonderful design of these stylish tiles.
