(Bottom nail is missing) Has an original dark green paint with the best surface. In some areas looks almost like a worn black paint. For sale is this spectacular and undamaged, early and 100% untouched and undisturbed early to mid-19th century In d i a n antique bronze figurative metal sculpture of the mythological In d i a n Goddess Saraswati, with her legendary four arms, two of which clutch and play an In d i a n sitar or’raghunaatha veena’ string instrument. The bronze is cast in the In d i a n traditional bronze sand casting method. The bronze still has its naturally aged, oxidized and heavily tarnished surfaces, with episodes of verdigris patina. The bronze has a variegated surface with fluctuating color, varying between a honey or amber, to deep burnt sienna, chocolate and sepia brown metallic hues, punctuated by minty green episodes of verdigris found principally in the recesses of the sgraffito incised descriptive mark-making on the surfaces of the In d i a n Goddess figure Saraswati. The bronze hasn’t been rinsed, oiled or polished with any kind of polishing agent, bronze cleaner or metal brightening paste. The antique Indian bronze figure remains largely as it was originally constituted. An incredible early-mid 19th century In d i a n artifact. Authentic and absolutely original. Saraswati is the In d i a n Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, art, speech, wisdom, and learning. She’s a part of the trinity (Tridevi) of Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Parvati. RARE EARLY-MID 19TH CENTURY AME RI CAN ANTIQUE PRIMITIVE 10 PINE BENTWOOD PANTRY BOX/LID, in ORIGINAL DRY RED, POSSIBLY FIRST GENERATION PAINTED EXTERIOR FINISH, with SINGLE BOARD PINE FLOOR & ORIGINAL LID. [Found in southern New Hampshire]. Early-mid 19th century Ame ri can antique primitive painted wooden pantry boxes & decorative accessories. 10″ Width x 6″ Height. In absolutely extraordinary original dry, minimally reduced red paint on the lid, side straps and pantry box’s body. The lid’s wooden side strap is without any appreciable damage and the vertical, overlapping clasp is nailed tightly and hasn’t split or fractured. The box’s sidewalls are made of a single piece of shaved wood, that’s overlapped at a vertical seam and nailed firmly together. The junction also isn’t waffled, compromised, splintered or suffering from any broken metal fasteners. The wood plank, single board wood floor is unbroken and made of one piece of steamed, bentwood pine, as are the lid and body’s sidewalls. The real action though, isn’t with this wonderful early to mid 19th century Ame ri can antique primitive red painted pantry box’s large size, measuring a full ten inches in overall width or its really extraordinary condition, but with its possibly original, first generation, dry red painted exterior finish, making this a rather rare and coveted early to mid 19th century Ame ri can painted primitive antique pine pantry box and New England cultural artifact. They simply don’t come in much better condition than this. Good to Very Good overall antique condition. Extraordinary and very early , all cloth ” Baby Land Rag “, “topsy-turvy”, “Topsy & Eva” , black and white doll, circa 1904 , with hand painted features (before they started using the lithographed mask faces) and measuring about, 14 tall. Called, #7 “Two Dolls Combined in One ” as shown in original illustrated, BABYLAND Rag Dolls, catalogue, shown on page 64, “Cloth Dolls”-Linda Edward, she wears all her original clothing as pictured there. One side has shows “Betty” with the most beautiful, blue painted eyes with excellent detail, eyebrows to match her wispy blond painted curls, adorable little nose, blushed cheeks and sweetly painted mouth. Flop her over to find, “Topsy” with thick black hair and dark eyes. They have a cotton-stuffed, linen body, joined at the waist, stuffed heads and mitten-type hands and wear their original fine cotton dresses , as well as their matching, Shaker type bonnets with wide, face-framing ruffled trim and ties. They have no damages or fading, no stains or tears and no repairs, no odors as they are from a smoke free home. Drblk Other Babyland Rag dolls are not included and listed separately.
