Only goes so high up bc of dry wax on the inside of the holder as seen in pic 7. Looks to be from Colonial Revival Era. Has a sautered bottom as seen with a hard to find and desirable wedding brass band ring on the stem. Great holder for your collection.

Metal trim and braces on all corners and around the top 3. Very rare little item 5. Wood is all hand planed, you can see some of the plane marks 5. Little brass disc under all the tiny nails 6. Top is made out of 5 small pieces to create the dome 7. Small stopper in the back to prevent the top from falling back 8. Plane and chisel marks on all side 9. These Candlesticks are in Louis XV style with two part construction. The turnings on the base and the shaft are very similar but ever so slightly different, the most noticeable being the bobeche on the one candlestick. The candlesticks appear to be paktong which might mean they were made in China for export. Condition: Heavy surface patina with some wax. Near pair not identical. Up for your consideration is this amazing antique Chinese metal enameled with turquoise dragon and bird decoration on egg form, looks to be from 19th century, beautifully and finely crafted, there are 3 small areas of enamel loss (see last two photo/close ups) but overall as photos show this is in good condition – please see photos.
