Exceptionally Rare Pre Coalport John Rose Coalbrookdale Porcelain Sauce. Circa 1805 – 1810. Rare John Rose & Co Coalbrookdale Porcelain Pre Coalport Circa 1805 – 1820 Sauce Tureen & Underplate. Likely a bespoke commission for an important family, given the incorporation of a monogram. All hand painted and gilded, Great overall condition, considering the piece is approaching 200 years old. There is a chip to the foot of the tureen, and two feint stable hairlines on the underside of the under plate as per the clear photographs. I have similar pieces listed, each with its own condition report, and photographs. You will receive the items pictured, we have labelled each item so the photographs and integral to the listing and condition report. Approx Size Underplate: 9.75″ w x 8.25″ across. Approx Tureen Size Inc Lid & Handles: 8″w x 7″ h. Early pre-1805 porcelains were unmarked and marks were rarely used before 1820. The early, pre-1820 Coalport wares have proved to be of a type of hard-paste porcelain. After 1820 – John Rose incorporated’Coalport’ into his porcelain mark.
