A Rare & Beautiful 80 Year Old Antique Carved two drawer continental cabinet. Made in Europe during the reign of King George V In around 1930 to a lovely standard. The plain top over two short drawers with beautiful brass pull handles over a pair of cupboard doors enclosing a shelf. The sides are wonderfully carved ecclesiastical style side panels. The piece appears to made from much older wood, perhaps even 18th century timber so likely remade from an older piece. All raised upon turned feet. Made to beautiful proportions it would grace any room. The wood has a wonderful glow and pleasing patina created over the last 80 years however the inside and back of the piece reveals much older timbers repurposed for this cabinet. RARE Africian Agba Stool Kingdom of Benin Edo Peoples of Nigeria early 20th Century beautifully Carved made from what looks like Teak wood. It measures 24″ long by 11″ wide by 19 tall. These stools were usually produced by carvers in Omada, the association of young men who served the Oba as palace pages and sword bearers and who carved in their spare time. The tops and legs tend to be intricately carved with scenes from Benin history, palace ceremonies and traditional Benin motifs. Two examples from the second half of the 19th century are in the Perls collection in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This top of this stool depicts a ceremony with Oba and two other dignitaries signing some inportant agreement or treaty and dates from the early to mid 20th Century. Antique Ward Brothers Redhead duck decoy, early period, circa 1930, having a hand carved semi hollow body, a distinctly shaped head with glass eyes and carved nares and bill gape, and a small paddle tail, in worn original paint. The decoy is in good structural condition, with slight separation along the body seam, a little loss in the seam in the breast area, and a small chip on the bottom beneath the breast. The body has original paint, worn and weathered, and missing to some extant on the lower sides and bottom. The head appears to have old paint strengthening. The head is tightly fastened via an old top bolt. Measures: 6.75 high x 14.5 length x 6.5 width.
