This rare antique Austrian jointed Teddy Bear with central seam is a true gem for any bear collector. With a size of 20 cm, this bear is – I believe – made of cotton (hard to determine) and straw filled dating back to the early 1900s. I received it around 40 years ago from someone who’s grandmother had owned it before handing it down to her daughter, who in turn later gave it to her own daughter (who gifted it to me). Some years ago, the straw stuffing had come out one of the legs and I had it repaired by a Teddybear Clinic. It’s still in quite a good condition, considering that it’s more than 100 years old (note the pointed snout, hand stitched mouth and upwards pointing felt backed paws). A true collector’s item.
Rare Antique Children Carousel Bear, Germany early 20th Century. A wooden carved children’s carousel bear decorated with polychrome colors, made in Germany around 1920. Original unrestored condition, partially repainted, traces of use according to the old age, some minor imperfections. A great addition to any sophisticated interior decoration. The first carousel horses were created in the 18th century for the entertainment of aristocrats. The enthusiasm spread to broad sections of the population and the Vienna Prater was opened with a carousel in 1766. Germany developed into a center of carousel construction. Famous manufacturers included Friedrich Heyn, Hermann Thümmel, Karl Müller and Fritz Botmann. The artfully carved horses and classic carriages were supplemented with exotic animals such as lions, tigers, giraffes, zebras and elephants. Pioneers of the first generation of showmen in the United States were Gustav A. Loof and Frank Hrubetz, who designed and constructed great rides. The world wars of the 20th century meant the end of carousel art. Many originals were destroyed and replaced by plastic copies. Antique Rare Early Dutch Delft Maiolica Tile Bear Circa 1625 Polychrome. A rare Dutch Delft maiolica tile painted in many colours. Decorated with a standing bear mounted by so called”Wanli’motife – First half 17TH Century – Good condition, only some chips and the right upper. Corner filled with some authentic cement (please see pictures) further no restorations. Mostly cheaper, it depends on the weight of the total. Considering I have to make a safe packet for you.
