NOTE, HORSE IS NOT INCLUDED. This removable saddle measures about 4″wide by 5″ tall and features Enamel on Brass, Circa Early 20th Century. Technique: Cloisonné involves bending wires (cloisons) to form patterns, filling the cells with colored glass paste, then firing and polishing. Materials: Made with wood, metal (copper, bronze, gilt), ray skin, lacquer, and sometimes inlaid with abalone shell or gold foil. Decoration: Features elaborate floral motifs, nature scenes, and patterns, using vibrant blues, yellows, reds, and black enamels. Purpose: Primarily ceremonial or luxury items for the elite, not simple functional saddles, often made in palace workshops. Historical Significance: Rare surviving examples from the Qing Dynasty (18th century), demonstrating peak artistry in equestrian equipment. HORSE IS NOT INCLUDED. This saddle is the same or very similar to the saddle on the horse you see in the last pictures which I included for reference. Grab it before its gone!
