A superb rare English solid sterling silver bookmark or page maker. It is hallmarked for Chester 1912 with the makers mark being that of Charles Horner (rubbed but just readable). It has been beautifully designed having a early green celluloid handle. It is in superb condition being free from digs splits chips and repairs, minute crack near the pin but its strong and stable with no wobbling. 3 inches (7.5cms) long by 0.75 inch (1.9cms) wide and weighs 2 grams. Rare Early 20th Century. Gerson Bahia 925 Sterling Silver. Teak Hand Manu Fica/Hand of the Fig. The hand is a carved image of manu fica, the hand of the fig, used since ancient times by many Europeans to combat/ward off the evil eye. Overall in excellent condition with no visible issues, just some tarnishing to the silver base and nails. The wood portion appears to be hand carved teak and the metal base and finger nails appears to be sterling silver. The bottom is marked Gerson Bahia 925.
