This English diminutive six light chandelier has six arms all individually numbered with punched dots to each arm showing which slots they hook into, corresponding with the dots on the central shaft. The arms are locked in place with an unusual central circular locking plate, screwed down with two hand cut threaded screws. There are some incised lines and dots as naive decoration to the whole. Quite rare to find an English chandelier of this date. It is a very nice early English chandelier and would look fabulous hung in a oak panelled study.

France, early 1900’s, made of bronze. Height (without chain) : 11 1/4″ , total height : 22″. Good overall condition, solid bronze, rare piece : I never had one of that shape for sale, with carvings on glass, old (ceramic socket). Here is a true rarity in antique lighting… A miniature 18th or early 19th century 2-candle “chandelier”… And I’m calling it a chandelier only because its designed to be hung. Antique French, Rare Chandelier, Empire Period, Gilt Bronze, Early 19th Century. Chandelier says to “the Antique”. French bronze work with double patina, gilded bronze and brown patina bronze. Cassolette model with 6 sconces simulated by ” cornucopia ” supported by female masks. The bottom of the cassolette is decorated with palmettes and a central bud , the top of the cassolette is finished by a flame. The whole is maintained by 3 chains united by a crown decorated with a bud and palmettes. Bronze work is of very high quality. This chandelier is rare because it is vintage, circa 1810 , a lot of Empire chandelier dates from the end of the 19th century or the 20th century. The model that we offer dates from the early 19th century, the bronzes are gilding original (it is used in places), the brown patina of the rest is also original (it also has a lot of wear) but the whole is original which is rare. We can if you wish to carry out the electrification, but you can also use the chandelier in decoration with candles, as at the time. It is a very beautiful object, entirely in solid bronze.
