Rare 18th Century Early Georgian Silk Work With Paper Face Original Frame
Stunning rare piece dating to the 1700s, with fluffy silk trees, and paper instead of silk for the face. The silk on the back is amazingly thick and soft, as is slightly visible from the back. Hand done verre eglomise, this has a wonderful folk feel about it. Has been reframed at some point as there is cardboard support. Minor flaws as shown, including some foil peeling on the black. Stunningly rare older work.

Used as a teaching aid for medical students, continental in origin and published circa 1824 – 1830 the graphically detailed content exemplifies close collaboration between Surgeon & Artist (often the same person) and drawn post mortem. Colours remain strong with light foxing and toning throughout. These came from a large collection of antique engravings, lithographs and prints etc from various disbound books and portfolios. Fantastic rare early silver plate teapot most likely Sheffield plate although could be of continental origin due to the unusual design with the roundels. Most likely late 1700s however could be earlier based on its construction ie thin folded metal. Research has not produced another of its like so it is highly collectible. Condition as displayed in photographs. Kept in dark and dry conditions for storage. These are personal items that have either been in storage in a loft or watertight storage area. Non smoking house or environment.
