Rare Early 19th Century AMERICAN Primitive Carved Wood & Painted WASH BOARD
For sale is a very early 19th century American carved wood wash board. This is a very primitive early design, likely made around the time the wash board was invented in the 1830s. It’s made from a single piece of hardwood and has hand carved grooves on both sides. Also features a hand painted flower design on the top. You can tell by the wear along the top edge of the wood, the paint was already there before the wear. The wash board has a beautiful patina from use over nearly 200 years! The grooves have partly worn down, especially in the middle, and have attained a smooth finish. This is from many years of use scrubbing clothes. The wash board measures 54cm long by 12cm wide (21″ x 4 3/4″). This is a very rare piece of American washing history! There are very few wash boards of this age left in existence, especially in this condition. It’s a museum quality piece, you won’t be disappointed. We use Australia Post and only charge the actual cost of sending. All fragile items will be packed with void fill and bubble wrap in a box. We include many photos and they form part of the description. We take extra care to be accurate. This item is in the category “Antiques\Other Antiques”. The seller is “collectitonline” and is located in this country: AU. This item can be shipped worldwide.

RARE American Brilliant Period Tuthill Primrose Bishop Hat Antiq Cut Glass Bowl
A rare and highly collectible and hard to find American Brilliant Period Cut Glass Bishops Hat Bowl. The piece though not signed has been identified as the Primrose pattern made by Tuthill Glass Company circa 1900. It has a large overlap rim which when turned over, looks like a Bishop’s Hat. Tuthill’s excellent reputation as one of the finest and most inspired American Brilliant Period Cut Glass makers was based on a style that was practiced with a high degree of precision on excellent blanks and combines stone wheel engraving with brilliant geometric cutting. The bowl combines a beautiful intaglio floral border on the rim with three rows of punties around the bowl and a sparkling geometric mirror star on the bottom. The glass is heavy, clear and bright. There is one small bite witch is highlighted in two photos.. One is a closeup, one shows the size of the flaw in relation to the total size of the piece. Slight amount of ware on bottom. The bowl measures 8 1/4″ across rim and is 4″ tall. This is a rare and beautiful example of APB Glass. This item is in the category “Pottery & Glass\Other Pottery & Glass”. RARE BEAUTIFUL McCOY VINTAGE 1915 AMERICAN POTTERY ROLLING PIN YELLOW WARE MINT
Here we have a beautiful vintage yellow ware rolling pin. Produced by the Brush-McCoy Pottery Company around 1915, body of the rolling pin measures 8″ in length and the overall length from handle to handle is 17 ½”. At over 100 years old, this rolling pin survives in in excellent condition with only minor glaze wear on the edges that doesn’t detract. The wooden handles, likewise, are in original condition with no splits or cracks in the wood. Additional photographs and information about rolling pins can be found in Lisa McAllister’s Collector’s Guide to Yellow Ware in Book I on page 62. Considering that most households would have owned a rolling pin, few have survived to this day especially in this fine collectable condition. This item is in the category “Pottery & Glass\Decorative Cookware, Dinnerware & Serveware\Bowls”. The seller is “yellow.fever” and is located in this country: US. I believe this to be from the 1700’s. Just come off an Old farm in Lancaster county Pennsylvania. It looks good for what it is and it should still be in working order everything seems nice and sturdy. There is a little piece of the finial that has broke off as seen in my photos but overall it looks good and displays well for what it is. This item is in the category “Antiques\Primitives”. RARE EARLY 19TH CENTURY AME RI CAN FOLK ART , NEW ENGLAND PRIMITIVE ANTIQUE 1826 HAND PAINTED LEATHER F I R E B U C K E T , w i t h I N I T I A L S R. [Recently discovered in southern New Hampshire in an early post and beam farmhouse on what was once a large, working farm, with various barns & horse stalls]. Early 19th century Ame ri can folk art, New England primitive antique, hand decorated, painted, sewn heavy leather fire buckets. 12 ¼” Height x 8″ top Width x 6 ¼ Base. Offered for your review and consideration is this absolutely wonderful and just recently discovered in southern New Hampshire, hand decorated, hand sewn heavy leather upright fire bucket, featuring gold gilt enamel paint over an emerald green painted field, with’No. 2′ hand painted along the top margin, signifying which firefighting pump or ladder truck it was associated with and belonged to. The date of its realization is hand painted along the lower margins’1826. There’s some slight to moderate gold gilt enamel loss only in this area contained within the banner. The heavy sewn leather seams are still incredibly intact and complete, with no thread loss. The leather sidewalls aren’t distorted or deformed. The bucket is now missing its original leather wrapped carrying handle, which had broken free of the leather side hoops. A beautiful, original, unadulterated antique piece of Ame ric ana. Found in southern New Hampshire. The fire bucket hasn’t been touched. It remains as it was when it was removed from the estate it was originally discovered in and to which it was associated with for many, many years. Thrilling and a summation of why those of us who do this, do this. An absolutely thrilling and exhilarating discovery. Good to Very Good overall antique condition.
