This is a very rare, French chinoiserie early 19th century mirror with original glass. Bevelled and slightly foxed. The fact its silver gilt makes it a very rare mirror. You wont find another like it! Came from a chateau in Bordeaux, then ended up in a loft apartment in Paris. I bought quite a few from the same place. See my other listings for matching pieces. Antique Lace-rare Early Milanese 218 Handmade Lace Banquet Tablecloth

Maria NiforosAntique Lace & Textiles. This Milanese tablecloth came from a early collection of lace. I think that perhaps anywhere from 17-19THC. How early I do not know.. I personally have never seen anything like it, Measuring apprx. 218″ by 65″, or possibly the attached tag could be right… By 5 FT 3. An amazing amount of work & assorted designs on this cloth. It must have been made for someone so very wealthy. In mainly very good strong condition, there is one dark rust spot, about 1 & then a line that extends apprx. 10 so needs to be spot treated, some other storage stains & reattachments need , more minor. Many of the laces we are listing came from a very old lace collection. Laces were stored away for well over 60 -80 years. All were eventually kept in acid free tissue & acid free boxes. Horse Rare Antique Early 1800’s HORSE Grooming Curry Comb Wood Barn Farm England

Very Rare early 1800’s Carpenter & Co. Curry Horse comb # 1286 patent #? Made by the English firm of (James) Carpenter & Co. Of Willenhall England sometime prior to 1844. This is a hefty well made curry comb which has the Maker’s name and No. 1286 on the small heart shaped plate as well as another makers name plate on the handle. This comb was a forerunner to many American made combs of the 19th century. At the time, combs such as this were not cheaply made by the Brits for the masses but rather for the wealthy class hence the attractive, fancy handle. See “Condition Description” above for more details on it’s overall actual condition. Even with the the light dirt and rust color on brush side its in remarkable original condition for its age. Rare Chinese short sword called paidao – China, 2nd half 19th early 20th Traditionaly this sword was used in combination with a round shield made of rattan. On one side of the blade is etched the Chinese ideogram meaning “protection”. Heavy single edged blade. Iron guard and pommel. The grip is made of wood. Strong and solid, no movement. This is a very well made item, constructed from brass this items quite exquisite in form and highly decorative with a quirky tactical feel. This item is completely made from scratch and pins moveable function is still very smooth when open and closed. This item is strong in form and shows a wonderful overall aged patina as shown in the photos provided. Quite simply, as our house style aims to deliver this item is unique and you wont find another one like it. This quirky and rare antique would make a great talking point in any cool interior. Size: H 18″ x W3.2″ x D 0.5. This is an item dated from the early 20. Century, so expect natural wear in the form of worn surface paint and light discoloring of the metal shown in its patina. LOVELY OLD ANTIQUE GEORGIAN BRASS DIAL LONGCASE CLOCK. JO Band of Bridgwater – 1760-79 (James Osmond Band). Early engraved brass dial 30 hour longcase clock. In a plain pine country case, lovely golden colour and patina – 81 high. Superb 11.5 square dial with fine spandrels, finely cut original hands, and large date wheel. All in exceptional condition and in good working order keeping excellent time. Chain driven movement striking the hours on a large bell. Ornate ringed pendulum bob. A very rare maker, I have never come across another Band clock. He was in partnership with a James Hine as braziers and ironmongers, in Bridgwater the business dissolving in 1772 when Hine moved to Exeter, and Band continued the business in Bridgwater. At the time Bridgwater was a major centre for brass, bronze and other metal foundries. However Band and Hine continued to advertise a wide range of goods after that date at their warehouse in North St Exeter, including church and other clocks. Excellent clock ready to put in your home.
