Very Rare Antique Toy P. F. Volland Raggedy Ann & Andy Dolls Circa Early 1920’s

VOLLAND – RAGGEDY ANN AND ANDY DOLLS, CIRCA 1920 – 1926 (VERY RARE). Wonderful and so Very Hard to find! Here we have both Raggedy Ann and her Brother Raggedy Andy. Both are very early versions, produced by the P. They are in exceptional condition, both with whimsical smiles. Striped red and white sock legs. And wearing their original clothes. Raggedy Ann still has the blush on her cheeks, and a cardboard heart (found only in the early Raggedy Ann dolls). Raggedy Ann measures about 15″ tall, and Andy is about 16″ tall. While researching the twosome, I found this lovely HISTORY OF RAGGEDY ANNE online. Raggedy Ann was created by the talented author and illustrator Johnny Gruelle. She began as a family rag; an old toy, faded and worn, tossed into an attic. And there, the legend goes, a little girl named Marcella found her one wet and rainy day. Her father Johnny Gruelle, saw infinite possibilities in that old plaything, so he repaired her and gave her a name. With her shoe-button eyes and winsome smile, Raggedy Ann soon became the beloved playmate of Gruelle’s young daughter, Marcella. When Marcella Gruelle fell ill and died in her early teens, Johnny was devastated. But knowing how much his daughter had adored Raggedy Ann, he began writing the stories that were eventually published. Gruelle soon gave Raggedy Ann a brother named Andy, and through the years the two floppy rag dolls acquired many other wonderful story book friends – all inhabitants of a very special world, where dolls come alive and enjoy magical adventures when no mortals are present. Antique Early 1930S SCHUCO DONALD DUCK Tin Wind Up Hand Painted Toy VERY RARE

Very rare Schuco Donald Duck Figure. Early pre-WW2 Schuco production. Featuring a Donald Duck style duck figure. Made of tin hand painted in beige, green and orange to beak. He is wearing a felt jacket and carries a cane and a backpack. Also a piece of felt as tail. He is about 5 3/4 inches tall. Wind up mechanism makes him waddle, open and close his beak, and produce a squeaking sound thanks to a bellow inside his beak. This type of early Schuco ducks are very rare, but this combination of green paint with green jacket and walking stick is super rare. Original paint with no touchups. Felt clothes are in very good condition with no damage. Clockwork mechanism works and he squeaks no problem. He is missing a small round hat. Very Rare Early Antique blank button Steiff Bear 10 fully jointed. Condition is excellent overall Used Antique very minimal signs of wear for age- a true original! Once hard stuffed he is a bit mushy overall now. When you push his tummy you can feel excelsior and squeaker? But no longer works. He has a very sweet face and mohair has thinned a bit throughout but still very nice and clean as shown. Very Rare Early Victorian William Adams Rococo Teaset with Bird Spout, c. English bone china teapot of rococo form with bird head spout, milk jug, lidded sugar bowl, 5 cups with five saucers all decorated with white ground & multi coloured flowers with heavy scrolled gilding. Pattern no 1180 but not marked. Condition is good with some wear to the gilding a crack to the lid of the sugar bowl and a chip to the beck on the teapot. Some wear to the center of each saucer. Cups 6.6 cm tall x 8.7 cm diameter rim. Saucers 15 cm diameter. Milk jug 11.5 cm tall x 13.5 cm handle to spout. Lidded teapot 21.5 cm tall x 27 cm handle to spout. “Dracula” by Bram Stoker. 1927 – Very Rare Early Edition. Antique Hardcover Book with Handmade (Facsimile) Dust Jacket 7 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ 354 Pages The dust jacket is a handmade facsimile of the original jacket, made to protect this antique rare book. The boards are in fair condition with some staining on the front and back and wear around the edges. There is a small tear on the top back edge of the binding and the title is smudged. The book is in fair to good condition, free from rips, tears, writing and bends. The front end page has the previous owners name written in pencil and there is a blue number mark on the inside front board. There is separation of the gutter on the title page, but all pages are in tact and there are no loose pages. Page 311 is dog eared on the bottom of the page, all pages are very lightly toned and the book is slightly askew. This is a great and very rare collectible book and a must for all. Yura Steiff Centre Seam Polar Bear, Very Rare Early Antique Teddy, 1908-1917

This is Yura, a very early and rare, jointed Steiff Polar Bear. In Inuit, her name means “One Who Is Beautiful”, and she truly is wonderful. She would be great anyway, but what makes her extra special is that her head has a centre-seam. Her limbs are jointed, and her neck was constructed with a special ball-joint, meaning that it can be manipulated to allow her to look up, down and side to side. Her squeaker no longer works, and two of her felt pads are torn, but other than a small stain under her neck and some very small holes close to her shoulder joint shes in really nice condition. Very Rare Spectacular Early 19th Century Automaton Fountain Clock Gilt Bronze

For sale is a most beautiful and rare French Automaton Clock that I have had in my collection for quite some time. It is one of my favorite items. This is a beautiful clock in completely original condition. It is a silk thread 8 day movement which keeps excellent time. The face of this clock is in remarkable condition, no signs of rubbing or wear. The hands are original. The basin where the glass rod spins to simulate water coming from a lions head, could use a cleaning to brighten the gilding as would the feet and Roman urn on top. The automaton runs well but I think it would benefit from a total service to make it run down to the end of the spring. It should run for a couple of hours, but this gets sluggish after a 1 hour run. The front of this clock is really beautiful with Bah Relief foliates, very well executed and finely detailed. The clock measures 15 inches tall, 7.5 wide and 5 inches deep. The clock comes with 2 period keys, one for the clock and one for the automaton. It chimes on a very sonorous bell at the hour and half hour. Thank you for taking the time to view my sale.
