Antique Steiff Mohair Teddy Bear. This sweet little German Steiff Teddy Bear is 5-way jointed and measures approximately 10 tall and is made from mohair. Unfortunately he doesn’t retain his Steiff button. He has boot button eyes, wool felt foot and paw pads and a non-working side squeaker. He is woodwool filled throughout. He has a front closing seam and he has wear to his pads, nose and ears. He has 3 repair patches that have been added to his back that has made him more sturdy (please see photos). He retains approximately 70% of his original mohair. He comes from a smoke free home. This little bear would make a super addition to any collection. Please take a look at my other listings! This lovely 14 teddy has such a charming expression, and even with his mouth stitching gone he still appears to be smiling. He is an Omega teddy bear… A British firm that made quality teddies. Omega bears are very sought after and are quite rare to find. This bear would date to 1910’s / 20’s He has distinctive painted back glass eyes , and horizontal nose stitching. He needs a few extra stitches. He is wood wool stuffed throughout. All the felt pads are original and in excellent condition, just a little wear on the tips of feet pads, and he has card lined feet. All claw stitching is intact. He has lovely long arms, and big chunky thighs, and a small hump! There is a growler mechanism inside which no longer works, but just clunks and rattles around in his tummy. He has an unusual pale gold shiny mohair, which shows signs of wear and thinning in places. A wonderful bear from this sought after maker. Just needs a little tlc.
