Here we have an extremely rare pair of lions not shown in any of the books on yellow ware. This pair of recumbent lions on oval bases with a ridged band around the base are nicely molded and have a folk art appeal. This is a unique form produced by only a single potter. Measuring 6 ½” in length by 4 ¼” in height the lions are thickly potted on hollow bases.
