Rare And Early Wooden 400 Day, Torsion, Anniversary Four Glass Clock. A very rare and early 400 Day, Torsion, Anniversary clock. Not seen one like this before, nicely made by’Badische U hrenfabrik’ who I believe were German makers? Their logo (‘B’ in a crescent moon) is found on the movement. The movement itself is in good sleepy condition but would require a full clean and service for it to work well. The disc pendulum is spinning a little whilst there has been a repair at the top of it (see photos). This movement is very unusual as it has Lantern pinions almost unknown on Torsion clocks. There is also a very unusual top crest to it, must be quite rare. Nice original disc pendulum while the dial is not the usual one that you see, possibly celluloid and is nicely patterned while the hands are nicely shaped. The four glass case is wooden which has been stained/polished red, so will need repolishing as it has scuffs, dings and scratches consistent with age. All four glasses are present, the front of which is bevelled. A nice early and rare model of a popular genre of clocks. Measures 12in tall x 6.25in wide x 6.25in deep approx.
