Rare PAIR Antique French Empire Marble Glass Vases. Stunning very rare quality pair of antique French Empire swirl glass marble. Beautifully decorated Napoleonic Empire style gilt brass/bronze mounts. They are not signed. Condition is generally very good and remarkable considering their age and still together as a pair… There are some tiny pieces missing on the gilt mounts around the body with the mounts on one vase been re-attached at some point and is about a 1/4 shorter with a small slither of glass missing near the base as shown… Very hard to tell unless very closely scrutinised. All as shown and does not detract in anyway as the photos show. They have a great aged patina with some rubbing, marking, scratches etc loss of gilt…. All nothing major, but noted. The pair measure overall 11″tall (one measures 10.75″) and 7″ across with a base diameter of 3.25″ and a top rim diameter of 3.5. Rare early punched tin lantern with multicolored glass inserts, some faceted, others cabochon. Large lantern, measuring 13 high, 5.75 in diameter at bottom. In very good condition overall, complete with loop at top but no bottom; nice patina; swing door enclosure working; one of the hinges of the door missing a bolt and held together by wire. This repeatedly lands on people’s watch lists, and yet I’m flummoxed as to why no one has bothered to make an offer on it, especially since I sell quite a lot through make an offer. Antique China Doll, 21German Hertwig. 1870s-1890s China shoulder plate, china flat shoes, leather arms, original sawdust stuffed body with a nice shape and small waistline. The linen on the body still has a sheen in material. Meet Rose she has cotton tucks bloomers, white eyelet cotton petticoat with tucks and lace, a green Calico skirt and Edwardian style Juliet sleeves blouse, adorned with an antique green velvet ribbon bow, antique green ribbon trim and valiance lace. Her sweet face is complemented by a charming Maroon Velvet Antique Bonnet Hat, (Artist made by dove) with a Vintage Tatted lace lining, vintage tiny roses and berries. She has beautiful black lace gloves. Rose has black hair with a deep center part she has one stroke eyebrows. She has exposed ears, red high liner eye lids, red nostrils, pretty blue eyes and apple cheeks! She has large flat feet/shoes, (the black is rough and worn), she has cobalt blue garter laces at the knee. Repair/crack to china right calf. Hair rubs on back of china head, tiny fire spots all giving her character and charmshe has a discolored pinky finger and the ring finger on left hand. She has had minor reinforcement repairs to her arms. Her cloths all have minimal stains consummate with their age. You might want to wash/ soak some of her clothing as I did not attempt. Rose is from my collection, she is a beauty and remarkably, in good shape, for her age. Thank you for your consideration.
