A fine and large antique Charles X carriage clock dating to circa 1820. Comprising of ormolu and inlaid wood, this clock is exquisite throughout. Charles X French Carriage Clock, Circa 1820. Featuring a curved rectangular plinth decorated with inlay work surmounted by a rectangular body with further inlay to the front and sides, housing the twin train clock drum.

Description: Here is a rare early 19th century Spode floral porcelain basket. Handpainted with floral sprays on a white moulded basket weave ground with relief moulded flowers. Gilt decoration to the top rim and handles. Impressed to base with a circle with a x to the centre. Dates from 1790 to 1820. Measures: 8.9 cms wide x 6.5 cms high. Condition: One of the moulded flowers has a small chip to one of the petals (see photo 14). It has age related gilt ware to the handles. There is a tiny small black mark behind one of the moulded flowers. There is also some grit in the porcelain. All other countries please contact me for a quote. Wooden traditional Distaff, a spinning old tool for manual spinning thread of wool, flax, hemp & other natural textile fiber. It was used in combination with the spindle and was also called distaff or “rock” in English and “Rocca” in Greek and Balkan languages. It is made of wood and have a very nice hand made carved decoration. Very good condition, more than 150 years old! Length – 100 cm. The item comes direct to you. Check out my other items. A very rare large set of six brass candlesticks. Dating to the early 19th Century, this beautiful set would make a wonderful display. Designed in the’Petal Base’ style and of very elegant form. The condition is very good overall with no dents or splits, but with some slight age related wear. Total weight approx 2.5kg. Base diameter approx 11.5cm. Antique Clock French Empire Bronze Rare Early 19th Century Circa 1800 Ormolu

Antique French Empire Mantel Clock, circa 1800. A very fine and rare example of a French Empire fire gilded ormolu / mercury clock depicting a young lady draped in a flowing dress illustrating the allegory of beauty featuring fine detail. The figure stands elegantly with flowing hair looking into a mirror alongside a jug and bowl and jewellery box on the clocks drum case. The figure of the lady has been finely chiselled; she has very realistic features; pay particular attention to the face, hands and finger nails. The clock demonstrates the finest quality of craftsmanship. To the front elevation, the clock features a silvered dial with Roman numerals. The front elevation of the base features repoussé work with shells and scroll work. A book, scroll and harp surmount the clocks drum case alongside a laurel wreath representing victory. The mechanism features a suspension silk thread. The clock features a twin train mechanical movement striking the hours and half on a bell. The clock is regulated by a count wheel. The mechanism is stamped by one of the most important and prolific 19th century clock makers, Japy Freres. The bell, pendulum and winding key are present. 37 cm high x 27 cm wide x 8.5 cm deep. Condition: Overall, the clock is in good working condition. The ormolu is in good condition and retains a very good colour. Please note, whilst the clock currently works, during transport, all clocks are moved around a lot, and therefore, they may require setting up upon receiving them as well as the possibility of requiring professional assistance or a service as they can get’stuck’. There is no guarantee that the clock will work smoothly after it has been transported. Please study the pictures and ask any questions that you may have.
