RARE EARLY 1800s CAMPAIGN CHEST OF DRAWERS FITTED SECRETAIRE & BOOK KEEP ABOVE. This is an early 1800s fitted campaign chest. The top section of drawer fronts slide out to reveal a fitted secretaire. The bottom three drawers are working drawers. With original book keep on top. This looks as though it may have had fabric or similar around originally. This is a fantastic rare piece of campaign furniture. It is in lovely original condition with stunning colour and patination. One loop missing from handle, easily replaced, otherwise good original condition. A fantastic piece of craftsmanship. PLEASE VIEW ALL IMAGES FOR CONDITION DETAILS. Chest measures approx. Each Urn is 11 tall and have the Lefebvre mark underneath with a V mark. The pieces are in good condition with some wear to the paint. One of the Gilded Ladies has a repaired head and a hairline crack just below the shoulders (see photo). I believe the urns would have had lids originally which I do not have. This is an amazing and rare set of urns by this important maker that will be a welcome addition to any collection. Very Rare early 1800’s Carpenter & Co. Curry Horse comb # 1286 patent #? Made by the English firm of (James) Carpenter & Co. Of Willenhall England sometime prior to 1844. This is a hefty well made curry comb which has the Maker’s name and No. 1286 on the small heart shaped plate as well as another makers name plate on the handle. This comb was a forerunner to many American made combs of the 19th century. At the time, combs such as this were not cheaply made by the Brits for the masses but rather for the wealthy class hence the attractive, fancy handle. See “Condition Description” above for more details on it’s overall actual condition. Even with the the light dirt and rust color on brush side its in remarkable original condition for its age. Early 1800’s Pennsylvania Redware slipware plate. This is a rare size and measures only 6 3/4 in diameter. Beautiful pumpkin color with vibrant yellow slip. The yellow slip decoration is in a very rare three line swirl design. Very finely done uniform coggling around the rim. The plate has a few very fine scratches, and crazing consistent with age. There is one very small area of glaze loss in the center of the plate. No chips, hairlines, or repairs. Guaranteed to be a very rare and early plate. I collected slipware for almost 40 years and had an extensive collection of plates. This is the best of the best. Offered at a fraction of what I paid, and a fraction if its current value. This and one other spectacular plate that I have yet to list are the gems of my collection.
