Large silver coronation spoon Edward VII, 1902. Original box and booklet. The spoon was presented to the Moderator of the Church of Scotland, James Curdie Russell, in 1902 to celebrate the coronation of King Edward VII. James Curdie Russell is one of the few people who attended the coronation of Edward VII. A church moderator is a senior official in some Presbyterian and Reformed churches. England, London, Edward Barnard & Sons Ltd workshop, 1902. Walking Lion confirms that the item is made in England from 925 sterling silver. “Leopard’s Head” is the hallmark of the London Assay Office.
