This is a very rare French farmhouse hunting table table à gibier sourced in the Loire Valley – from the early 18th Century. This table was used to present game after a hunt, which was considered to be a pastime of Royalty and the privileged class. This table that features 2 drawers (one in the front and one on the side) can be used as kitchen / dining table (it can sit up to 6 people) or a kitchen island. It shows some signs of wear consistent with age and use and signs of extinct woodworm holes that we have treated for good measure. Full of character this table crafted in beech, elm and oak has aged to a stunning very light colour and would make the most stunning statement piece in any home. Original paint either Kenton. Cast iron high box coal truck with driver. I say “or” because at least one person has said it is a Hubley do appreciate the input! Ither way, it is a great piece of nostalgia. It is approximately 6.5″ wide by 3.5″ tall. The paint is fire engine red with gold trim on the lettering, the driver’s cap, the steering wheel, the radiator cap and the headlamps. The driver has a painted white face, It has a split frame and the original rubber tires. The piece has nicks in the paint commensurate with age and use, but no major dings, dents or other damage. The tires do have some cracking again commensurate with age and use, but are intact and roll smoothly. I have described the truck to the best of my ability and provided many photos for your review. Made Circa early 20th century by Bauer Pottery (1909 – 1962) Los Angeles, Ca Bauer’s earliest production was plain and fancy red clay flower pots. This very hard to find example is clearly marked “GOOD LUCK 10″ on the underside and bears a four leaf clover, horse shoe and whirling log in relief on the curved stepped body with pronounced scalloped collar, a stepped rim at the top. Factory drilled for drainage. In very good overall condition – a few minor chips are covered with old light green paint – no cracks or loss. There are three holes to attach wire to hang.
