Wonderful and rare antique French doll, Jumeau Triste Doll, on early French Composition Ball Jointed Body with straight wrists, 24 tall. She is known as the long face Jumeau, as she has a wistful expression. She was only made from. 1893 to 1898, by the French sculptor Carrier-Belleuse, as commissioned by Jumeau to make this very special doll. She wears a wonderful silk lined, wine red velvet & lace dress, with a bebe bonnet. She has a full slip and pantaloons with lace. She has all her fingers, Closed mouth, Incised on the back of her head is “11”. This Jumeau Triste is one of the most stunning examples of this rare and much sought after antique French doll. She has one of the most beautiful faces of this model. Her bisque head shows no chips or cracks. There is a restoration inside front top of head that is not visible outside of the face. There is a hairline inside top right of head that is not visible on the outside of the face. The body has been repainted. She has one earring, applied ears. She has fixed bulging brown eyes, silk stockings, leather shoes. A beautiful blond wig with long curls, marked in label 100% cheveux naturels. Made in France, 100 % human hair wig, and replaced cork pate. Rare Early Antique Jumeau Doll 5, Closed Mouth, Straight Wrists, 15, Cork Pate

RARE Early Antique Jumeau doll, closed mouth, threaded paperweight blue eyes with original body, straight wrists, and cork pate circa 1880’s. She has on a newer hand made blonde mohair wig and will come with her hand made antique hat. She is 15 tall, cabinet size. This doll does have a few hairline stable cracks in her bisque head. She has a very faint one on her forehead coming down to eye and a chip on the back of her rim that becomes another going down neck. These do not detract from her overall beauty but do make her more affordable. She is wearing a beautiful silk dress and will come with antique underclothes and leather shoes. If you have always wanted a small early closed mouth Jumeau, this may be your chance. She is clearly marked DEPOSE, JUMEAU, 5 with artist marks. Non smoking home, Merry Christmas! Sorry for any inconvenience! German French Bisque DOLL 15 IN. Cabinet Size with Open Closed Mouth. 8 Ball body in excellent condition for age. Beautiful Original Antique Brown eye. There are paint rubs and marks here and there, but no repaint… Damage at back of neck and damage to 1 thumb see all pictures! Shoulder has separation on one side but does not effect doll. Piece that holds head is very snug but has dropped a little. You may chose to reposition or reglue.. But head does hold. 2 holes in top of head. There is no damage to the bisque head. No chips, hairlines or repairs. It is simply incised 8. Lovely addition to any collection.. Don’t let her slip away. It becomes buyers responsibility.
