Here we have an extremely rare pair of lions not shown in any of the books on yellow ware. This pair of recumbent lions on oval bases with a ridged band around the base are nicely molded and have a folk art appeal. This is a unique form produced by only a single potter. Measuring 6 ½” in length by 4 ¼” in height the lions are thickly potted on hollow bases. The lions are in excellent condition with only minor flakes on the base that don’t detract or take away from these magnificent animals. Early 17th Century Kubachi Ware Pottery Bowl Northern Persian VERY RARE

A large deep bowl featuring a plain exterior and an unusual tripodal feature alongside a foot. The interior is beautifully coloured and decorated around a central bust of a youth amongst foliage. The rim decorated with cartouches of a fish scale motif and possibly calligraphy. This is 17th Century and shows its age so please check the photos carefully. This has been heavily damaged and shows large cracks, repairs and restorations including recolouring and filling in (not the best restorations in my opinion). Also included are chips to the rim and glaze, scratches, crazing and wear, and discolourations. The paint work isn’t crisp, the edges have bled. RARE ANTIQUE EARLY 1800s BASKET WEAVE TEAPOT WEDGWOOD YELLOW WARE MINT

Dating to the early 1800s, this is one of the most spectacular and elegant small teapots you will ever find. This is the only teapot with a rim that sweeps up towards the spout and handle. The teapot is thin walled and was designed and molded by a master potter and has a finely detailed molded basket weave pattern extending around the body and lid. The lid has a small oval handle and a hole to vent steam and aid in pouring. Measuring 4 ¼ to the top of the finial by 7 ½ wide from the spout to handle, the teapot is in original mint condition with no damage or repairs. The teapot is not signed, but the design is similar to known Wedgwood teapots. This teapot does not appear in any of the books on yellow ware and looks even better in person than as shown in the photos. If you are a serious collector, this is one of the finest small teapots you could own. Made Circa early 20th century by Bauer Pottery (1909 – 1962) Los Angeles, Ca Bauer’s earliest production was plain and fancy red clay flower pots. This very hard to find example is clearly marked “GOOD LUCK 10″ on the underside and bears a four leaf clover, horse shoe and whirling log in relief on the curved stepped body with pronounced scalloped collar, a stepped rim at the top. Factory drilled for drainage. In very good overall condition – a few minor chips are covered with old light green paint – no cracks or loss. There are three holes to attach wire to hang.
