RARE BEAUTIFUL McCOY VINTAGE 1915 AMERICAN POTTERY ROLLING PIN YELLOW WARE MINT

Here we have a beautiful vintage yellow ware rolling pin. Produced by the Brush-McCoy Pottery Company around 1915, body of the rolling pin measures 8″ in length and the overall length from handle to handle is 17 ½”. At over 100 years old, this rolling pin survives in in excellent condition with only minor glaze wear on the edges that doesn’t detract. The wooden handles, likewise, are in original condition with no splits or cracks in the wood. Additional photographs and information about rolling pins can be found in Lisa McAllister’s Collector’s Guide to Yellow Ware in Book I on page 62. Considering that most households would have owned a rolling pin, few have survived to this day especially in this fine collectable condition. Antique Original Rare Wemyss Ware Large Bowl Jazzy/Moorland Pattern c 1920s

This is a rare and beautiful original Wemyss bowl from the first pottery in Fife Scotland. After the first world war Wemeyss ware went out of fashion. The then head designer Edwin Sandland introduced the Jazzy range in an attempt to regain business, it didn’t work and they went out of business in 1930 and moved the whole business down to Devon, this piece was made around 1920 before the move to Bovey Tracy in Devon. The fact that this range didn’t save the company gives it that rarity value. The bowl is 23 cm in diameter and 10 cm high. There is some staining to the interior, however i don’t believe that his detracts from it’s beauty, but it is reflected in the price. Here we have an extremely rare pair of lions not shown in any of the books on yellow ware. This pair of recumbent lions on oval bases with a ridged band around the base are nicely molded and have a folk art appeal. This is a unique form produced by only a single potter. Measuring 6 ½” in length by 4 ¼” in height the lions are thickly potted on hollow bases. The lions are in excellent condition with only minor flakes on the base that don’t detract or take away from these magnificent animals. Early 17th Century Kubachi Ware Pottery Bowl Northern Persian VERY RARE

A large deep bowl featuring a plain exterior and an unusual tripodal feature alongside a foot. The interior is beautifully coloured and decorated around a central bust of a youth amongst foliage. The rim decorated with cartouches of a fish scale motif and possibly calligraphy. This is 17th Century and shows its age so please check the photos carefully. This has been heavily damaged and shows large cracks, repairs and restorations including recolouring and filling in (not the best restorations in my opinion). Also included are chips to the rim and glaze, scratches, crazing and wear, and discolourations. The paint work isn’t crisp, the edges have bled.
